I've wanted to get into it since before I knew what Dragonball GT was. Its been my ambition all my life to create, or at least help in that creation. I've just had a tough time getting into it. I've got Unreal engine and GameMaker Studio, but Game Maker's tutorial files do not exist for some reason, and Unreal is all kinds of complex. Can anyone help me out here? (I've been watching Extra Creditz again. Stopped when I left Escapist)

Edit: Also, at my computer class at my school, we've learned Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and recently started on LightWave.
Edit 2: I'm sorry, is there a way to move this to Help Me!? I've been making stupid mistakes all break long.

Is there any reason the rocks in A Link to the Past have the number 8 on top of them? Is it even supposed to be the number 8? Someone said it kinda looks like a dumbbell, but I think not. There aren't 8 bosses in the game. The only real connection I found is that there are 8 dungeons in the Dark World.

Does anyone know if there is a legitimate reason for the number 8, or was Miyamoto a fan of Billiards?

So, I have a suggestion. I have always wanted to throw my hat into the ring with voice acting, and I also love gaming. I think it would be a fun idea to have voice actor/actress auditions for different DYKG episodes! Now, if there is a line of people that are always contacted to do the voice acting, then that's fine. I get it, because there wouldn't be any worry about if it's good or not. I'm probably not making any sense, but hey. Thanks for reading!

Hi!

I was watching the 6th episode of the "Fire Emblem Retrospective", wich seemed to me being a good source of DYKs (now I wonder, if "Marth", who is written "Marsu" in japanese, or better his name is a reference to the roman god of war "Mars" - if you find out, be my guest and post it as a new submission). After mentioning, that there are references to Fire Emblem in Tetris Attack and Kirby Super Star at 7:20, I could hear Adult-Link's (or better his voice actor's) shouts from Ocarina Of Time at 11:40 in the Fire-Emblem-Anime, which was released earlier than OOT.

So I used Wikipedia to learn something about Link's voice actor/seiyu Nobuyuki Hiyama. I was shocked, in how many games i must heard his voice without noticing the similarity.

1st thought: too much stuff - will never be posted. At my 2nd thought, I remembered, that looked up more infos about Tales Of Vesperia and Tales Of Symphonia: Dawn Of The New World after beating the games. So i had learned, that Yuri Lowell's voice actor Troy Baker also voiced Dr. Markus Vaughn from Trauma Center: New Blood - a game, also played by me, but only after reading this, I realized the similarity between them. The actor for Tebebrae in Tales Of Symphonia: Dawn Of The New World, Christopher Corey Smith did another voice in the same game for Zelos Wilder and reached Mach 1 with his words when lending his voice to Rufus in Street Fighter IV. But the 3 characters sounding that much diffrent (you can hear Tenebrae for example in my "Namco loves you!"-post), that I can't believe it untill today, that only one man did this jobs o.O

So I discerned, that there are maybe too many voice actors doing too many voices in too many games, so posts about that matter seeming nearly irrelevant to me. It rises the question: am I right or am I wrong?

There are some DYKs I've noticed have been posted in the wrong sections. Unless I've missed something, they aren't related to the game which they're listed in.

The following ones I've found:
In the Sims section, the final two are related to the Simpsons and Duke Nukem:
http://didyouknowgaming.com/tagged/The%20Sims

In the Coker section, the last one at the bottom is only related to Command & Conquer:
http://didyouknowgaming.com/tagged/Conker

also the F-Zero category when clicking on says URL not found. There are at least a couple of F-Zero DYKs that I've seen so I know there should be a page there:
http://didyouknowgaming.com/f

About a year or so ago, I remember reading an article about Sega planting trees in a forest full of evergreens during 1998, the trees were planted to make the Dreamcast Logo. In Autumn, as the trees would turn brown and lose their leaves it would show the Dreamcast logo from above.

I have tried googling "Dreamcast logo made in trees" but keep getting off topic results.

So what I'm asking is if someone could find some source on this, I know it's true, I've seen it in an article before, but I cannot remember where.
