Actually, LTTP was large, it had enough space to fit a desert, a castle, a town, a forest, a lake, mountains and even a second map after that, along with 12 dungeons, it was the longest Zelda game yet, OOT and MM can't compare, I think the newer Zelda's should stop having the "Get 3 items for the MS" - "Then get 3-4 items for another task" - "Final dungeon" routine, and have a similar route to LTTP, in which you get 3 items for the MS, final boss, sudden plot twist, and then maybe have 5 dungeons to do things in, then the final final boss.

And most of that is empty space. Take it out and the game is fairly simple and small. It's also a lot easier to place tiles than it is to create 3D areas. My point stands.

Edit: Actually I just flat out disagree with your statement about LTTP being big. You can go from one side to the other in about 2 minutes. http://zs.ffshrine.org/link-to-the-past/...orld-1.png
