You clearly ignored everything I said. The bible says Same-Sex is not wrong, and that hating anyone is wrong and that murder is wrong. Therefore these people ARE NOT religious but anti-gay extremists wearing the mask of Christianity to be that much more accepted in society. And your falling for that illusion and blaming Christianity, as if it turned these people into the murderous haters they are. A far less extreme example is how many car thefts teens blammed it on grand theft auto and then the majority of adults truly believed GTA was responsible for kids stealing cars. Where as we here all know Kids who already steal cars use this as a method of pushing off the blame
In my church there is actually reverse prejudice (which I think is wrong) where the priest is allowed to deny a straight couple if they want to get married for any reason, but cannot deny a gay couple for ANY reason. so if a 40 year old guy is marrying a 16 year old guy, he is forced to marry them, and he most likely wouldn't marry the straight couple.
I had a similar fear when people threatened to kill me for being "emo". Maybe not as extreme but I understand.
tl;dr: CHRISTIANS CAN BE GAY AND CANNOT HATE GAYS, THESE GUYS ARE THROWING CHRISTIANS UNDER THE BUS. Christianity has no correlation with these gay haters..And you are being just as ignorant as the anti-gays are by ignoring the facts because you refuse to stop hating what you resent. Religion does not make me live in fear, or anyone i know. Blind statement based of few examples again. People walk all over churches in our town asking for free money and favors, definitely don't fear us. I am from Canada, not texas. I understand extremists went as far as to make there own christian churches, so it makes sense to fear them... But go find a luthern church (subcategory of christianity) and tell them your gay. I will bet everything I have you will be treated no differently (actually that's not true, you will be treated better due to the anti-prejudice nature..

I apologies I didn't know some deep south states had state-funded textooks sent to christian schools, I can see why that would be frustrating, and that would never fly here.
Hiderince to human kind? About a minimum of 50% of all church income (at least in my province) is donated to the weaker parts of humankind, so if your willing to let sick and the poor die over your extreme view then it's hard for me to not write off everything said so far as hate-speech.
