I'm REALLY drunk right now, so I can't explain anything very well, but it's basically impossible to have another gaming crash akin to the 80s one these days.

Back then, gaming was basically on the same level as board games or RC cars or whatever. A fad. An admittedly lucrative fad...but still the property of a single designer churning out dross (as well as mad auteurs churning out INSANITY. . .hence Jet Set Willy). Then the NES came and saved it.

Gaming is now, I think... (back me up, anyone) a bigger market than Hollywood. A market that big will simply not go away. Regardless of the creativity, it's here to stay.
