First things first - I think that comment warrants an in-depth explanation 
I haven't watched some much animé in my time, but I do recommend Deathnote - the story, music, voices were very decent (even if I hate those squeaky-ass female voices they sometimes do). Watch whatever you want to watch in Japanese, in my opinion it's better with subtitles than dubbed.
Also, Yu-Gi-Oh the Abridged Series is hilarious if you have 5-10 minutes to spare for an episode
Firstly, turns out he took down some of the raunchier stuff since the last time I looked at it, it used to be a romantic Spyro the Dragon fan fiction... still sort of is. But he edited out the Rule 34 imagery. [

Secondly, I've watched every episode of Yugiosh Abirdged, GX Abridged, Ninjabridged, and Abridgimon. Loved them all, I'm looking for a real anime though so my buddies with metal in their asses will stop making fun of me :C
@Everyone else, I'm going to check out Full Metal Alchemist, Death note, Cowboy Bepbop, Case Closed and Sword Art Online. I forgot to mention that I watched some of Dragon Ball Z, Naruto and One Piece, wasn't a big fan of any of them.
