Man Gets Arrested for Playing Tetris on Airplane

On September 10, 2002, Faiz Chopdat, age 23 of Blackburn, Lancashire, was arrested for playing a game of Tetris on his mobile phone during flight on an airplane. It was his return trip from his honeymoon.

It wasn't that he was being disruptive, it was that having a cell phone on during a plane flight can mess with the electronic controls, so it was more a matter of safety.

From CNN.Com:

"He had been warned twice by cabin staff and once by a passenger to switch off the phone, which triggered an argument during the Air 2000 flight on which there was 206 other holidaymakers and six cabin crew.

Chopdat was found guilty by a jury last month of endangering the safety of an aircraft and could have faced a maximum two year jail term.

He was given 4 months jail time.
