I agree with the much serious story. In the Last Air-bender, it felt more like a kids show. Even when Appa was kidnapped, they kept it from getting to depressing by making Sokka be tripping on hallucinogenic plants. I felt like they made Legend of Korra for the Fans who grew up watching Last Air-bender and are now in their teens.
Did anybody else, when
the boat blew up with Tarlock and Noatak on it and it showed the puff, thought "It's a giant mushroom, MAYBE IT'S FRIENDLY!"?
