Yes. Same here. Everything's going portable now, it's all about those smart phones, tablets, making your world "connected..." ..it's what consumers want now. I work for the largest consumer electronics retailer in the US (BB) and believe me when I say that is where the trends are going, I know exactly what I'm talking about. Consoles seem to be going in the same direction the desktop, laptop, and short-lived netbook are going in.
People are starting to want that connected world so they don't have millions of things to keep up with, so if everything is in one device it is easier, and believe me I've had customers say that. The console may not be dying nearly as fast, but it has declined a little over the last few years.
Gaming itself isn't dying, it's in full swing and growing. It's the consoles that are.
I for one am not very opposed to this while I love my consoles I would love even more if the golden days of portable gaming came back and I would once again be able to play a great big budget game that has blood sweat and tears poured into it by the developers while also not having to be hold up at the TV, I miss those day and would strongly welcome a return of them.
