A post-apocalyptic world is a world that was destroyed due to a nuclear war (or whatever caused all the nukes to drop) to make it a wasteland. The Mojave Wasteland is just a desert, basically. And New Vegas wasn't even in ruins, unlike Washington D.C and the Capital Building, to be exact. That's what made Fallout 3 so freaking special.
Your point? What part of "I prefer New Vegas to Fallout 3" do you not get? You can enjoy Fallout 3 all you like. I'm not saying it's a bad game, 'cause it's not. I simply like New Vegas more, with it's story, characters, and slight gameplay changes. Plus, NV kinda ties into Fallout 1 and 2 a bit more than 3 did, so there's also that.
