RE: Anyone here watch My Little Pony?
If you like the pony thing good for you, I'm not going to criticise or mock you for it, however my request to the general fanbase is to please try and keep it to yourselves and to stop constantly waving it in everyone else's face.
At first when all the pony images started popping up on threads I just thought, "ugh, another annoying meme... ah well, like all memes it'll have faded into obscurity in a few weeks and replaced with something new" but I was wrong, it's refused to die. Most memes will come, annoy you, then disappear, much like most farts will be released, mildly repulse you and then be gone in a few seconds. MLP is the equivalent of a fart that just lingers in the room for ages, won't stop smelling and inexplicably gets worse and worse.
For the past year and a half (or however long it's been around) it's been virtually impossible to escape MLP whilst on the internet. I'll go onto a forum, click a thread, and far too often over half the posters will have a ponies as their avatar and signature and the posts themselves will be just be the 'bronies' talking to each other in references and 'pony language' and posting big pony meme pictures. I'll go onto Youtube and watch (for example) a 'let's play', but then I'll have to turn the video off because the commentator won't shut up about 'Rainbow Dash' and other assorted crap. I'll click on someone's online profile, and it'll be plastered with pony pictures... and so on.
The non-internet equivalent of a brony is someone who has some sort of hideous rash or boil that they insist on getting out and showing everyone they meet. "UGH! Yes, good for you, you have athlete's foot! Now please put your shoe back on I don't want to look at it!" "Wonderful, you like My Little Pony. Great! Now please stop constantly ramming it down my throat with all these pictures and jibberish! I'm not interested!". Every other fandom on the 'net manages to keep their certain interest to their own dedicated forums and fansites without spraying it everywhere else, so why can't the MLP fandom?
I've seen a few posts on this thread suggesting bronies are bad because a lot of them are possibly men in the thirties who get sexual gratification from a cartoon about horses aimed at infants. If you are a thirty year old man who is turned on by cartoon horses and owns a now rather sticky pony plush with a hole sewn into the rear, then I say, good for you! You aren't hurting anybody, what you do in your time in the privacy of your own home is your business, but please keep it to yourself and your fellow pony-lovers, don't ejaculate your pony obsession over the rest of us, we aren't interested and we're sick of it happening.
