I believe it's called, obvious padding. Yes you Darksiders 2 and Skyward Sword. I love those two but I HATE obvious padding in games. It honestly kills the motivation to play at times.
This is really if you play fighting games; Marvel vs Capcom specifically. The dreaded part is getting stuck in a 40+ second combo. Characters like Dante, Vergil, Dr.Strange, Dr.Doom, Jill Valentine, Magneto... OK cool so you killed off my Wesker, but then I get caught in a (good) mixup and have go through the whole process again. I dread being caught in combos in that game.
This isn't necessarily bad, but I dread the ending of games I'm completely in love with. Games like Final Fantasy I WANT to play more and more. I want it to be much bigger than it already is and when I can tell the ending is near, ah man. Sad panda I am
