What do you think of emulators?

Emulation as in, for example, Virtual Arcade or emulation as in the pirated kind?

For the first: I don't really buy games digitally, aside from a few hard to obtain PS titles.

For the second: Considering that some games are almost impossible to find anymore or cost waaaay too much for someone with a budget, emulation is a good way to get to know some of the classics or games that haven't been released in your country. I use emulation, though nowadays I mostly use it for LPs because capture cards and whatnot are horribly expensive D:
