They are just so dumb and pretentious that I can't enjoy them. Ugh. They always sacrifice gameplay for the sake of being 2deep4u.
I love you. One thing came to mind for me: Braid.
I absolutely loathe Skyward Sword. I'm a huge Zelda fan, but Skyward Sword was horrible. Even worse than Twilight Princess. Gone are the days of any non-linearity in the Zelda franchise, it has now become a frilly storybook for fangirls. The way it reused bosses was infuriating to me and also insulting. The gameplay inbetween dungeons boils down to a mundane hide and seek minigame, and the scenery is so uninspired. And the loftwings are horrible. I want another Link To The Past and I want it now.
Aside from that, I never really cared much for God of War or Devil May Cry period. I'm just not much into hack and slash I guess. And I am turned off by most games that are super realistic in visuals - I grew up as a nintendo kid with lots of colorful character art and honestly that was a lot of the fun for me. Also, online FPS games. Or nearly 80% of the stuff that's sold on Steam. I'm not really into competition when it comes to video games - and I swear if I see one more 'funny' youtube video featuring Team Fortress 2 characters I might just keel over.
I agree with you, so sad with the Twilight Princess was the Skyward Sword, for the new Zelda that are so short? The Link of the Past is so epic, has over 12 dungeons and despite the limitation of the season was excellent, I miss rpgs so I really liked Minish Cap, but it is also another that I found very short.
I do not much like FPS realistic because I think it kind of is an advertisement of the army and how killing people is cool. I am more human line facing monsters, some games like Mario Sunshine made me happier than a Battlefield style game 3.
