It's weird, the text is basically meant for HDTV. It can be the same exact size as your SDTV and yet it'll be more clearer (if this sounds confusing, I'm sorry).
My TV cost about $1000 and I got it like 5 years ago. I can find my same size TV for probably around $400 now (maybe even less, it's a 42").
Xbox 360 is generally quite easy to adjust because it's not a 1080P console (which many people think). It's actually 720 so it isn't as much as a strain on SDTVs like the PS3 is (but who uses component cable on a PS3?) Also, (NOT trying to sound forceful) but SDTV shouldn't be used anymore. It's worth buying a cheap 20inch HD TV now because you can't stay with SDTVs any longer with the way technology is going.
