I'm with everyone else on the "We need Rare games not Skittles-the-shittin'-tiger" but I highly doubt that will EVER happen. Not saying that the current team at Rare are bad. You look at their games now and they have that Rare polish but honestly, we're never going to get that DK Country remake. The old team has split up since then to form companies like Free Radical (Timesplitters), SEGA, Ubisoft an others. I would think we might see an actual Banjo Threeie or Conkers Bad Fur Day but even then that seems like a longshot. We keep the classics of Rare in our minds.

And if they do bring them (Banjo and Conker) back, they need to be FPS military shooter, with screens turning red when you're on low health, generic guns and generic war storyline. Smile

Yea, I know. I realize the classic team who brought us our childhood favorites are no longer a team anymore. However, it's only wishful thinking, as this entire thread is supposed to be. Honestly, the only thing I truly want is for Capcom to go back to being the awesome people they once were. Once they made the leap into next-gen, they changed into some money-hungry company shelling out dlc by the ass-load. It's really the one thing I want to have back from my childhood: Capcom being cool.

It's not even the Capcom games, it's their business practices (as you said). They still make some amazing games and can bring out successful new IPs in doing so. (Asuras Wrath, Dragons Dogma) but games like SFxT which are poorly made with DLC scams everywhere. Even Asuras Wrath and Dragons Dogma have Day 1 disc locked DLC which taints an otherwise great game. RE6 had DLC announced 6 months before release. Sad

Oh more too add. More SHMUPS! I spent too much of my time playing Cave shooters (which the western world aren't familiar with). We need a good R-type. Also, Fire Emblem would make for a good Final Fantasy style RPG.

Hm, I haven't played a good shmup or bullet hell in a while. Then again, neither genre seems to get much coverage in the west, so I have to actively search for it. And since it takes much too long to find a good one, I just gave up looking. And what are you taking about Fire Emblem for? It's already an rpg...or are you saying you want to see a new Fire Emblem game? I'm sorry, your wording wasn't very clear.
