Things you hate that Devs do.
I hate when they release American, and English games at different times of the year mostly because there is no need to do this.

Fire Emblem is a great example of this. Awakening just came out in America, and Nintendo STILL haven't given Europe a release date yet. There isn't even a demo on the store.

So, what about you guys? What do devs do that you hate?

I suppose not listen to their fans or blame other circumstances that are not their own.

I hate when Devs release a game, but do so without any sort of advertisement of the game, then go ahead and say, "See? It didn't sell well. Guess we should never make a game like this again." Or, better yet, something recently pissed me off: Capcom and Megaman's 25th Anniversary. They do nothing for Megaman at all, then decide to hype up a game that was made entirely by fans, making it seem like Capcom themselves helped make the game. They tried to cover up the fact they didn't do shit for Megaman.

I'm annoyed with devs. telling people that the game is a "whole new experience" and "revolutionary" but when played,it is just goddamn terrible.

For some games, console exclusivity. There are some games that everyone deserves the chance to play. But it is understandable for something like needing specific hardware for specific game play (like the WiiU gamepad)

I got really annoyed with the guy who had Fortress Craft I think it was called. It was a minecraft supplement of xbox 360 before that was announced, and at one point he added a way to spawn zombies, and no way to remove said spawned zombies, and the only way to kill them was to buy another of his games to unlock a weapon which could kill them, in a game with blasters.

Bad voice acting. Sometimes, when something tragic is gonna happen, it seems as the characters are trying to sound sad. Especially in Kingdom Hearts on the DS (352 and a half day maybe?) where the characters sound... terrible.

Seriously? That's really uncool, I know that there was a huge shipping issue in North America, luckily I managed to snag a copy yesterday thanks to a random friendly employee who put it on display two days earlier than scheduled. Don't worry, it's definitely worth the wait.

Anyways, I really hate when devs keep a game at full price for way too long. This might seem like a weird thing to complain about, but there are three year old games that are still being peddled for $60 on Steam right now, that's just sort of irritating, especially when other fun triple-A titles usually drop off a little bit after a few months, like Borderlands 2 and Far Cry 3 (although I really don't like borderlands grumble grumble...)

I agree, hardly anything from Activision and EA's catalog is below 20$. 20$ minimum for Call of Duty 1-4 & MW2, jeez Activision, if you're gonna keep releasing the same game yearly at least adjust the prices to match this plan.

Speaking of sequels I hate it when devs develop games with half-baked stories and the only way to see the conclusion is to buy the four or five sequels with little to no gameplay or engine changes to justify making a sequel in the first place other than to make you spend more money.

I'm on the same boat with the over-pricing. I wanted to buy the original CoD games on Steam, but they're 20 bucks. For a game of that age I expect half the price.

RE: Things you hate that Devs do.
The problem with Fire Emblem (I think Retro and I live in the same country(correct me on that)) is that it's European so they have localise it in multiple languages. Skyward Swords manual comes in 12 frikkin' languages! Honestly I don't mind that it's delayed and already in English in another part of the world, because it's understandable with the languages that Nintendo have to convert it to. But my biggest gripe with this bullshi- however is when Nintendo purposefully region lock the 3DS handheld to stop people like us importing the English(NA) version. Then I'm pissed. We could import it if it was on the old DS handhelds but region locking is bullshit!

This also goes for the massive wanker who thought it'd be a great idea to region lock Persona 4: Arena. The only PS3 game ever to be region locked. You officially killed P4:A before it even came out in Europe. Region Locking in general...I just hate that. They make it seem like piracy or that it's bad. I modded my Wii to be region-free

It wouldn't surprise me if they "forgot". And by "forgot" I mean, "didn't want to acknowledge a series in which the creator 'Keiji Inafune' left Capcom due to the way the company operates"
Capcom were fortunate enough to have Street Fighter and Megaman 25th anniversaries in the same year so they spent 2012 on Street Fighter. Then in the last month or so, crammed in Megaman.

I bought FortressCraft too. Never knew that but it sounds like shady schemes.

This is more a Developer/Publisher thing. But everything that scams legitamte gamers:
Online passes, Season passes, Day-1 DLC, disk locked content, pre-order bonuses, Multiplayer XP bonuses for buying crap like Mountain Dew etc.

This one goes out to Nintendo. Developers who charge way to effing much for their games to the point they're just taking the piss. This is especially a problem with Nintendo and their download games.
If I don't have the physical copy, then I expect the games to be MUCH cheaper than retailers.
But instead they charge £50 for WiiU game and £40 for a 3DS game. Despite the fact that WiiU games are still around £38 and 3DS games are £28ish. Why would you want to be £10 more to play a game without having the physical disc and everything else AND not having the ability to trade it in for something else? Stupid...

Creating an awesome looking game and never releasing it outside of the country of creation.

I'm looking at you, Namco x Capcom....

Including cool unlockables that you'll never unlock because the requirements are so ridiculous.

I'm surprised no one's mentioned this one yet: DLC that adds things that were supposed to be in the original release. Asura's Wrath, you piece of shit, are a shining example in this case. You were supposed to have an ending, but nope. It wasn't included in the game, and added as DLC a month after release. *ahem*FUCK YOU!

RE: Things you hate that Devs do.
DLC can be done right, though.

A video game is a pie. You pay for this pie. You are offered an extra slice of pie, you may buy this pie for a decent price and it's delicious. Good. That's DLC done right.

Done wrong, it's you pay for a pie, get half of a pie, and have to pay for the the rest of the pie.
But wait it's disc-locked pie. The pie is on your table, but you're not allowed to eat it. Screw that.
