RE: Creepy Pasta
What do you guys think about this one? It's called "Bundy's Grocery Store". I actually saved this a while back from a different forum, but I don't remember which (I've been through a lot of hobbies, and at least 2-3 forums for each, so there's a lot of different places I could have found it originally.)
Quote:Hey guys, so this is something I found out that’s just, put me on edge recently, just because of the disturbing nature of what happened. Anyway, I feel like I should tell some people and whatnot.

When I was a kid, about 9 or 10, my family moved us into a house not far outside of Miami, Florida, on NW 39th street. Anyway, this was back in the 80s, so it was quite a long time ago and the area, to my knowledge, has changed quite a bit since then.

But back in the day, there used to be a shopping plaza (I think there still is, but like I said, it has changed quite a bit.) And there used to be a locally owned grocery store called Bundy’s, where my mom always shopped because I guess they had good prices or something (being a kid, I didn’t really know or care much about the price of things.)

Anyway, like a lot of grocery stores, they had their own brand of a lot of items. Bundy’s granola bars, Bundy’s soda, etc. And they even had their own knock-off brands of the popular Kellogg and General Mills cereals. Instead of Frosted Flakes, they had Snow Flakes, instead of Lucky Charms, they had Magic Moons, instead of Cap’n Crunch, they had Captain Bundy’s, and so on. They had other cereals that weren’t knock offs too, though, like Bundy Berry and Creepy Critters. Creepy Critters was my favorite, because I was really into bugs and creepy junk like that as a kid, so cereal shaped like bugs was cool to me. It didn’t taste like bugs or anything, of course, just looked like a grasshopper or something.

Well, when I grew up and moved out, Bundy’s had gone out of business, and they replaced it with like an Albertsons or a Publix, or something, I’m not sure. Since then I really didn’t think about Bundy’s to the point where it nearly left my head completely. I was growing up, and I had school and friends and all kinds of other distractions, and the local grocery store really didn’t matter to me anymore. Especially now that it wasn’t even there anymore.

The other day, I decided to visit my mom, at her house (I’m in my 30s now and I’ve been living on my own for quite some time), but I thought since the holidays were coming up, I’d visit and maybe help out if she needed me to. When I got there, the house was pretty clean, and she had definitely done a lot of decorating. (Seriously, it didn’t look at all like there was anything left for me to do.) But she told me “there’s some old stuff in the back room I’m gonna donate soon, you should look through it, see if there’s anything you want.”

So I did, of course. There was a lot of stuff, too. Newspapers, old pictures, VHS tapes, all kinds of stuff. I took some of my old toys and stuff, and a couple newspapers, just because I like reading the old headlines about how outrageous $1.50/gallon for gas was back then, lol.

When I left, I headed over to the shopping plaza where Bundy’s used to be to pick some stuff up for dinner that night (I didn’t even think about the fact that it’s where Bundy’s used to be. It wasn’t even until I got there that I realized it was the same plaza). I thought to myself “Oh hey, Bundy’s, ha ha”, and just got on with my shopping. It was a Publix now, in case you were wondering.

So anyway, I picked up some canned corn and beans, and then headed to the back, where the frozen meats were to get some chicken I planned to grill later. On my way back to the front, where the registers were I went through the closest isle, which just happened to be the cereal isle. This brought back more memories of Bundy’s, since the thing I remember most about Bundy’s was the cereal isle. And now, I have to interject, Publix has their own brands of cereal too, but it’s completely different from Bundy’s (I mean, some of them are still knock-offs, but still, different names and everything from Bundy’s.) And this is where things got weird. Looking through the cereals, it was the standard stuff, Rice Krispies, Sugar Smacks, Rese’s Puffs, Opps All Berries, and the like. But there was one box that just looked out of place. It was a faded red color; Faded like it had been sitting there for a while. I wasn’t sure at first, but when I picked it up, sure enough, it was a box of Creepy Critters. It had the Bundy’s logo on it and everything. I immediately put it in my basket (there was no way I was gonna let this opportunity pass by).

Once I got home I looked at the expiration date on the box. It was faded, but I thought I made out “18/9/11”. 18/9? I guess it was just the day and then the month, 18th of September, 2011. Maybe Bundy’s was a British company, and that’s how they wrote the date. Either way, I found it kind of odd that it would have a 2011 expiration date despite looking so old.
Regardless, I poured some into a bowl. It didn’t really look old, looked fine to me, and the 2011 expiration date was reassuring enough for me to at least try it. I poured milk into the bowl and got a spoon from the drawer. I left the grocery bags on the counter for the time being, since I was gonna use all that stuff pretty soon anyway. I took a bite, and it brought back so many memories of my childhood. Although it tasted funky. Different than I remember, but hey, it’s been 20 or so years, so I’m not surprised it tastes different.

After I finished the bowl, I looked through the stuff I had taken from my mom’s house. I sat in a chair in the living room and started looking through the old headlines. “What Is AIDS?” and “Pope John Paul II is Shot!” things like that. Again, bringing back memories. I flipped the page over, and in the bottom right corner, I saw something that really caught my eye. The headline read “Local Supermarket closes, Bundy’s Loses Legal Dispute”. I couldn’t help but read the article.

“Local supermarket Bundy’s was recently closed after losing a legal battle with an upset mom, says Norman Wells, Journalist.
The store was accused of putting live insects, notably cockroaches, into their store brand products. Sometimes the insects would be ground up and mixed in with the ingredients used in the product. Bundy’s was found guilty on all accounts of food poisoning and endangerment, among other charges. One citizen in particular, a Ms. K. Dawson came forward to speak personally at the trial, says Wells. “I bought my son ‘Creepy Critters’ cereal almost every time I went to Bundy’s. It wasn’t until I looked closely that I saw what looked like cockroach legs, small, sticks, with little hairs. I though they were just oats or grains of some sort, but then I came to the realization that I was feeding this to my son. I immediately called Bundy’s and demanded to speak to the head of the corporation. Later, I sued them for what they were worth. It wasn’t fair that they were doing such a disguting thing. People could have and might have been seriously hardmed.””

I could not believe what I was reading. K. Dawson, Karen Dawson was my mom. I looked in the sink where I had put my bowl, and I looked closely at the left over contents in the bowl. Sure enough what I saw looked like cockroach legs. I couldn’t help myself, I vomited into the sink. The thought that I had eaten this as a kid disturbs me to no end. I poured the contents of the box into the trash and I couldn’t believe my eyes, I saw what looked like cockroach eggs (if you’ve ever seen a cockroach egg, you can understand). On top of that, what looked like wings were in there too. When I was a kid I didn’t think about it, it just looked like a ball of crunch stuff to me.

All I can say is, I will never buy store-brand cereal again. And if you ever see a Bundy’s in your neighborhood…just get away. Don’t go through what I went though.

Oh, after I kind of snapped out of my state of shock, I looked back at the expiration date on the box, and I realized it said “11/6/81” (November 18, 1981). So on top of all this shit, it was pretty damn old too.
I thought it was pretty good.

RE: Creepy Pasta
Has it run its course, or does anyone want to talk about quite possibly the most infamous video game creepy pasta, Polybius?: http://www.freewebs.com/polybiustheory/

I really liked the story. Granted it's not a bit scary, but like Candle Cove it's one that's not too overly far fetched to the point where a fair amount of folks believed in it. Heck, this caused people to actually search for this so called game and it makes a little cameo in The Simpsons.

They almost had me on the hook when the version I read talked about seizures. Sure, I could believe that some obscure arcade game existed but was pulled because of that. If an episode of Pokemon could do it, then a game totally could, but I quickly realized it was BS when it got to the part about the men in black.

I've never been a real fan of them. I've read my fair share, but I'm just that one guy who isn't bothered by them.
Which actually kind of sucks.

The video are enough to get you into it. They're the main part of the entire creepy pasta.

I am a pretty big creepy pasta fan Smile. The best are Candle Cove,Ben Drowned and The Polybios Theory (not really a creepypasta, just a theory).

I kinda wanna know about those Ed, Edd, and Eddy ones.

All in all, I'm not big into Creepy Pasta. I know they're fake, but I always get scared because it's always night when I wind up reading them. I always feel like theres something behind me, but then theres nothing there. Like the Silence from Doctor Who.

You can google them if you want to. That's what I did. I usually browse my mind searching for old cartoons and then search for creepypasta. But I have to tell you, these Ed, Edd 'n Eddy ones weren't that good, really.

What about the creepy pasta in which all the cul-de-sac kids (along with Ed, Edd and Eddy) are dead and stranded in purgatory? That one was pretty creepy (in my opinion).
