RE: Netflix Instant - Help me choose a show!
The Larry Sanders Show - Garry Shandling's second brainchild after "It's Garry Shandling's Show". Amazing satire of the 1990's late night talkshow format. Features a ton of popular celebrities (at the time) playing exaggerated versions of themselves. Also stars Jeffrey Tambor, Rip Torn, Janeane Garofalo, and Scott Thompson. Amazing cast.

Louie - Louis C.K. is an amazing comedian and he portrays a fictional, but heavily inspired by his own life, version of himself in this series.

Parks & Recreation - Amy Poehler is really hit or miss with comedy. I hated her in SNL, but she plays an amazing role of a ditzy but well-meaning government employee in this NBC series.

The Upright Citizens Brigade - Stars a younger Amy Poehler, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, and Matt Walsh. Incredibly hilarious sketch comedy with each episode's skits coming together at the end of every episode.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Joel Hodgson and/or Michael J. Nelson were the original commentary gods. Joel or Mike and their robots Crow, Tom Servo, and Gypsy riff on cheesy sci-fi B-movies. One of the most endearing television series of all time. Mike Nelson currently continues to riff on movies with his company RiffTrax (which you can combine with Netflix).

Better Off Ted - If Aperture Science were a real company, they'd be Veridian from this show.

The Whitest Kids U Know - Probably the most offensive and hilarious sketch comedy series I've ever seen. Stars Trevor Moore and the rest of the troupe performing classics such as "The Hitler Rap" and their new material.

Crayon Shin-Chan - The Americanized version of the series isn't as funny (imo) as the original Japanese version, but the show itself is still pretty entertaining and is funny at times. Features copious amounts of "ass dancing".

The Kids In The Hall - Cleaner, but severely dated, sketch comedy series from Lorne Michaels (Saturday Night Live). Has a ton of episodes, is the source of the oft-quoted "crushing your head" bit.

Jon Benjamin Has A Van - Produced by Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. Stars H. Jon Benjamin and is a "fake news" series featuring "interviews", sketches, and segments based around an independent newscast.

Important Things w/ Demetri Martin - Demetri Martin is cute. Also he is sometimes funny.

Doctor Who - By far my favorite sci-fi series of all time. It's basically about the smartest man ever, travelling through time and space solving problems without resorting to violence.

Supernatural - I'm starting to watch this now, and it is pretty awesome. It's about two brothers going about modern times hunting demons and other beasties.

Better Off Ted - CFMM mentions it above, I second it.

Important Things with Demetri Martin - also seconding CFMM. I wish it lasted longer though.

The IT Crowd - 2 guys in the IT department. It's hilarious and british.

There's also a bunch of good anime shows on there if you like anime.

I love the US version. Nothing on Netflix hooked me so badly as The Office. And I hate that Brazilian Netflix still doesn't have season 7. Neither british The Office, but I think it's a matter of time.

How different is the UK version?

Oooh Peep Show is fantastic, I'd definitely recommend it (It's quite addicting I planned to watch 1 episode and watched 5 in a row instead).

IT Crowd is one of the best comedy programmes ever, Shit I just love it's top notch sense of humour.
Also Father Ted may be older but is worth watching for it's brilliance!

I also think you should check out the new seasons of Dr.Who (Christopher Eccleston and onwards) as it is absolutely great and with every season it gets better!
