Other than that I don't really care so much about Gadgets or technology. My computer is alright. I'm looking into buying a Kindle, but that's about it.
Judging by the direction smartphones are taking, going back to physical keyboards would be a "downgrade" for apps developers, since they would have to adapt their apps design to something completely different, where many have suceeded in using touch controls (games like Angry Birds and apps like Flipboard, for instance). One day I used a friend's Blackberry and it had a directionals controlled pointer to browse pages. It was awful! Keyboards are useful, but can also be a pain. The only way physical keyboards could work on smartphones is being what they are now: an alternative to touch screens, like on Xperia Pro and Mini Pro.
Since most smartphones do NOT have built-in keyboards, another solution would be throwing away the tradition of the QWERTY keyboard, that was developed more than a hundred years ago and was meant to be used with both hands. Too much for small smartphone screens. There are some apps that propose a new standard, like 8pen, that is actually very good and lets you type using nothing but your very thumb, but requires a lot of getting used to.
Edit: Also, smartphones with keyboards like Blackberries are ugly as hell. And useless. Get a good Android phone and be happy with it.
