Livermore National Labs is located in the city of Livermore, California.
In Metal Gear Solid 2, Sergei Gurlukovich, leader of the Russian mercenaries that take over the Tanker, tells the Marine Commandant, Scott Dolph, that he was raised in Snezhinsk, a city in Russia.
Livermore and Snezhinsk are sister cities in real life.
