Affordable, Quality gaming headset? - Arjahn - 07-26-2012 03:20 PM

I'm looking to buy both a decent mic and nice pair of headphones (been stuck using the Terrible apple ones since my other pair broken), so I figured I'd just streamline the process and go for a nice headset and was wondering if you guys had any recommendations. Now I am looking for one with cushiony headphones, but nothing ridiculously expensive.

I use a Turtlebeach P11 which can be used on my PS3 along with my PC and I think it was like 40-60 dollars at Gamestop. Yes I was that desperate to find a usb headset because my computer can not STAND me using the 2 plug headsets.

You do live streams or commentaries of SC2 and we will see if you got what it takes.

I have a similar set up to this. I use headphones to hear and I use an Xbox 360 controller that's plugged into my PC with a mic attached for the voice, rather than using the small ear pieces on the regular Xbox headsets.

@Arjahn: (Assuming you're talking about Xbox here)
Turtle Beach XL1 Xbox Gaming Headset Xbox360
Tritton Trigger Stereo Headset Xbox360 <- They use these are fighting game tournaments.
ORB GX1 Gaming Headset X360 Xbox360
Insanely cheap:
VX Comms Elite Headset for Xbox 360 Xbox360
Xbox 360 Elite Headset Black Xbox360
Madcatz Headcom Pro Xbox360

Anything by MadCatz and Razer I'd recommend

What's most important is one of those volume things that are easy to access to rapid screaming 12 year-old muting Big Grin

I had some £5 headphones.

They work fine.

But I guess Turtle Beach are the best.

I use a Wired Rocketfish headset. It was only 60 or 70 dollars and is VERY high quality for the price. It's also easy to set up and configure.
