Final Fantasy VII was originally designed for the Nintendo 64, but Square Enix cancelled the project and moved it to the PSone because of the lack of storage in the console's game cartridges.

I just want to say that there is actually a few pictures of the alpha version of the game. IIRC the main character looked a lot like the treasure hunter from FFVI.

Apparently, there were 3 parts of the so called game "Final Fantasy 64". Look it up!
