@Nuudoru
I disagree but you made good points. Personally I don't play Square-enix games for the story. Their writing has pretty much always been turd. Some odd exceptions such as Pre-FF8 and XIII-2. Dragon Quest is some of their best though. Chrono Trigger is like FF XIII story make zero sense but the game was pretty fun (for me)

Yes ! That's also a problem of the FF series.
Storyline - Boy in village. Evil boobies (booby is an olde english word for "bad guy" or "idiot") come in and steal something. Go find them ! Lots of swords and secondary-character-love-story-subplots. A tree tends to make an appearance. Then some huge flying creature comes fannying around and tends to kill a non-descript secondary character.
AND, all the creatures wait patiently for you to come up to them and smack them with a stick. Then your guy/gall waits patiently for the creature to come wallop him with a scallop or some other generic WMD.

Dammit Square-Enix, you have your moments...

Yeah XD! With FFXIII I think I clocked around 100 hours. I have ZERO idea WTF the story was about. No freakin' clue.

Oh I thought of another game to add to my list
Binding of Issac.

I have a dislike for the Assassin's Creed Series.

Oh god, it was the same thing for 6 years running now, go here, do this, kill him, do this, go here, do this so that this can be this, and then chapter finished. I've played all 4, completing Revelations now, but still they're just so bland, boring, repetitive and do not get interesting until you're nearly finished the game.

Red Dead Redemption.

Now, you see, I liked this game, but I didn't think it was the most amazing game ever, with great feels of the atmosphere, and characters, and such, but my biggest problem was the things in the game itself.

Let me take on example.

I get into a new town, and suddenly, these bandits are dragging a poor man by a rope attached to his horse. Now 4 bandits go by, I turn around and start shooting the people on the horse. Suddenly "500 bounty" is added and the police start shooting at me.

I apparently shot 2 police officers chasing 2 bandits who were dragging that man around. NO ONE told me this, there was NOTHING showing they were officers and it was done VERY badly.

Another thing was a story mission in which a character was getting hanged, and you had to get over there and stop her from being hanged. So, I killed everyone, ran to her, and the game told me to shoot the rope, which I did, okay so we've learned that we have to shoot rope to stop a hanging.

Fast forward a bit, and a person comes to me. "Hey mister, my friend is getting hanged, please help" I follow this man, and see his friend getting hanged. I get off the horse and shoot the rope.

Nothing happens.

I do it again and again and he then dies, I look up about this, since it's a random occurrence for people to ask for help, and it turns out that you have to go up to the rope, and cut it down with a knife, which again, NO ONE told me.

The game was great, but a lot of things made me hate it. You couldn't even swim for fuck sake.

*BRACING FOR HATE*

The Legend of Zelda series. Just never got into it. The games are solid enough but I just never can play more than an hour or two without boredom ensuing.

Fifa. Holy Shit Fifa.

Also, Red Dead Redemption, Bioschock, and littleBigPlanet are severely overrated.

Most games by Valve. (Portal, Team Fortress, and I'm really getting there with L4D and Half Life)

I've explained it in another thread, but it really has to do with the fans and how their repeated parroting of the games' catchphrases and iconography has just saturated the franchises with utter stupidity. I think Valve's a great company, but they have the worst fans.

My jimmies have been surprisingly rustled by some opinions, but I like reading about what people hate.
Anyway, I don't really like Borderlands. The graphics are beautiful and I love the style, I'm just not a fan of the gameplay at all, it feels strange.

Same. I loved the gun customization and variety, but the game just got boring to me way too fast.

I second FIFA.

For christs sake, its the same thing every year, with new footballers, and
HOLY SHIT LOOK, YOU CAN KICK THE FOOTBALL IN 'TACTICAL MODE' WHOOOOAAA

Nevermind CoD being the same, at least it has new storyline, zombies, gun, modes, emblems, killstreaks.

Nah I was saying Dragon Quest (PreFF8 and FFXIII-2) are some of their best. But Chrono trigger and FFXIII you can ignore the story line. It's pretty meh.

If you hate Fifa AND Kinect, prepare a bucket for you're about to blow chunks with....

Same deal with Madden games. EA just has to replace players' names and general appearance and BAM another best seller.
