Well it's evolution, Cofagrigus, has a human inside of it.
"It has been said that they swallow those who get too close and turn them into mummies. They like to eat gold nuggets."
Credit to Bulbapedia for these By the way.

In Pokemon Firered, the Pokedex entries for Raichu and Gastly both reference a real life animal and country.

Raichu - "Its electric charges can reach even 100,000 volts. Careless contact can cause even an Indian elephant to faint. "

Source: http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Raichu_(Pok%C3%A9mon)#Game_data

Gastly - "A being that exists as a thin gas. It can topple an Indian elephant by enveloping the prey in two seconds."

Well we sometimes quote fantasy worlds in our fun facts.
What if... their fantasy world is OUR world

3. Those are just the different images of one Missingno. Some Missingno.s take the appearance of other Pokemon, Trainers, different blocks, etc.
4. Must try that.

Well, that wasnt the thing i wanted to point out.

i think i talked too much on this one well, let me get this straith:

Missingno comes in various forms like these i posted, but the mouth to mouth story was, that Missingno is destroying your savegame.
It doesnt, 'M does.
'M looks like the block form of missingno, it appears where missingno appears on the same trick but with different lettern in the special places.
Catching 'M is a high risk of deleting/destroying your save file, Missingno "just" messes with the hall of fame.

Edit:

To the Lavender town music, i searched on google and i dont found a single link, where it says, that its just a rumor.
Im not talking about the high pitch sound some kids might hear and commit suicide, thats just a rumor, i only mean the pictures in the sound.

i have no proof to be honest, but i dont have a proof, that this is just a rumor too.

I should read things completely. Sorry 'bout that. Would you like a Pokemon fusion?

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows? - Deadalus - 07-28-2012 10:51 PM

What do you mean with "would you like a pokemon fusion"? Huh

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows? - Hypercat-Z - 07-30-2012 08:13 AM

The original names of Jesse and James are Musashi and Miyamoto. Like Musashi Miyamoto, a famous (in Japan) Samurai.

Did you know...

that having no Pokemons in Gen 2 and getting into a fight will result in an instant win?
That means, you can beat every trainer, even the elite 4 without even having a single pokemon.

Also:
Did you know...

That there is coding left for the Safari Zone in gen 2?
A Safari Zone was codet into the game but it was canceled.

Probably because of the trouble the safari zone in gen 1 caused.

Found this tile set, that was planned to be the set for it:

Last for today:

There is a hotel in Cerulean City, that just look like a pokemon center.
Gamefreak had more in mind with this house but canceled this due to lack of time.
So they left it like this.
The interessting part is, that there is a unique thing, that you totaly have to try yourself:

Thats right, there is an invisible pc in the hotel, cause this house looks just like a pokemon center. They erased the pc but left the pc itself where it was.
And no, the healing process doesnt work, no invisible nurse there Big Grin

Something along the lines of getting 2+ pokemon sprites, and fusing them.

And seeing as my ideas keep getting ninja'd, here's some more:

The beta starters for Gen 2 were Honaguma (spellcheck), Kurusu (again), and Happa. Hona was a fire bear, bearing resemblance to Pikachu, if set on fire. Kurusu was a seal. A plain, blank, white seal with ears. Hapoa was Chikorita's head with two knobs near the bottom and legs.
More beta Pokemon include a spinning top Pokemon, possibly a Hitmontop beta or pre-evolution, a turtle, with striking similarity to Tortuga, minus the green shell, as well as many others.

This one's a common one, but Pokemon was inspired by the creator's love of bug collecting.

In the Pokemon world, it has been confirmed people eat Pokemon. Two examples being Ash eating a fried Magikarp in the episode The Grand Race, and the Slowpoke tails from the games, described as a delicacy.

But how would one go about playing the game without a single pokémon on them ?

Using Walk through walls cheat.

With that, you can even have a pokedex in gen 2 before having a pokemon

Ah and speaking of using walk through walls:

Did you know, that fighting your rival in gen 2 at the second town, after you got a pokedex AND got your first pokemon (without getting one from prof elm, but maybe from Bill) will result, that your rival has a totodile everytime?
That way you can pick the pokemon who is super effective against the one the rival has.

Doh, thats racist Tongue

Just like bulbasaur in gen 1, poor thing Confused (Never choose it too... i dont like him)

Ok this one is probably not really a new thing:

In pokemon yellow it is possible to play a minigame with pikatchu, where you can surf with him.
The surfing pikatchu is even in the opening from pokemon yellow, but it is impossible to obtain a surfing pikatchu in pokemon yellow, without using cheats.
Its only possible, when you have a N64 and pokemon stadium, there you can get a pikatchu who knows surf and trade it with pokemon yellow.

dull but yea, only way.

Also:
Did you know...

That its plain impossible to buy the items, that cost 1.000.000pokedollar in gen 1/2?
Even when you manage to have that much money (wich is possible with using hacks), there is no code for that. like in gen 2, no slowpoke tail was programmed into the game or the bike in gen 1 (ofc its the bike you get after using the ticket, but the buy the bike code is missing)

Thats for now, smell ya later Tongue

RE: Pokemon Did You Knows? - DarkNerd - 07-31-2012 10:36 AM

Pokemon Yellow already mentioned.
Slowpoke tail is, however, coded in HG/SS.

This will blow your fucking mind:

WOOPER CAN LEARN ICE PUNCH.
