I have no respect for you.

It's fun when you're just goofing around, if it's a more serious survival game and you make someone lose all of their items than that's a bit much.
Me and a few of my friends have a server and I made a piston door to enter our fortress that was activated by a lever and left it up for a few days. Then, after everyone got used to it, I made a pitfall TNT trap underneath where they would pull the lever which I re-routed to a TNT block underneath the sand, so when you pulled it you fell just enough blocks so that you wouldn't die on impact, but then TNT fell on you and you exploded in an obsidian pit.
Needless to say, that annoyed quite a few people.

What happened to you Arjahn...you used to be cool.

It depends on what you're griefing... If you're griefing someone's hard work that took 10 days to be done and they were probably at the last part of completing it, you're simply a jackass.

If it's something as for killing other players by destroying the floor under them and making them fall under larva, or, even, planting TNT under their house so they can activate it through pressure plates, then yes, it's cool.

You know those blocky weeds on the ground in Minecraft?
Yeah... they'll f*** you up pretty good.

I'm trying to telekineticly choke you guys right now. Please let me know if it's working.

I only grief when I'm playing co-op with really close friends of mine. No one of us are really THAT serious about Minecraft so we just laugh when it happends. Last time we played my friend had done a huge tree house and I accidently used flint in it and burned it all to the ground. Good times.

I grief friends. If they go AFK I build a thick wall around them, change them to survival mode and leave them with 20 iron pic axes to dig out. Damn I am a good host.

RE: Griefing in Minecraft - Ouberry_13 - 07-11-2012 03:25 AM

I grief people I know, and only do so when they're not doing work. If I see a friend building part of their house, I'm not gonna be an ass and burn it down or destroy it. However, if they're just doing basic mining, I'll have some fun and make a mob chase me to the friend's location. We usually have a community chest full of items, so it's not like we're losing anything if we die.

Normally I get angry, mainly if they destroy or place blocks or change signs. But if it's something like throwing a bunch of eggs in my house to fill it with chickens, that's fine.

Agreed

I hate it. It annoys the crap out of me.

On a server I used to go on every day for about the first 2-3 weeks after the game launched on the Xbox 360, we had a few people destroy quite a bit.

1) We have a castle in the clouds. And the whole top layer was basically gone, and some of the stuff we had was replaced with other things.

2) Some guy made a nice, big house in the village. And someone came in and basically burned it down.

3) The back part of the village was nearly gone. 2 houses were damaged pretty bad and all the cobblestone work to make it look pretty was destroyed.

4) the entire village itself was damaged pretty badly. It was so bad that the hose ended up quitting and hasn't come online since.

And I only remember a couple of times where random people actually joined (we usually always had it on invite only). And when the village was nearly destroyed, I talked to the other guy who was in here during the time it was destroyed and he didn't know who did it. I looked at the recent players list and he was the only recent player who joined in. There was only 2 other people online in that server that time (me and the host). I was angry. Because I spent about 3 hours making a rail-track from our prison to our Colosseum. And that was destroyed when the host quit.

TL;DR version:
I freaking hate grievers. You grief in my world, you're gone.

Depends on the level of Griefing. If it's minor, I won't mind. If it's major, I get seriously pissed.

Someone came into my world and burned down my entire village, making most of the chests unable to be reached/used.
