Thanks a lot! Also I can't wait to see your stuff.

Uploaded something videogame-esque I've been working on to Youtube. Let me know what you think Big Grin

PS - Feel free to have a listen to the rest of my pieces. You fine lot are the first people I've actually linked to my channel so you could be my 1st subscriber(s) Cool
I collaborate with a friend of mine and half the pieces are his but I'll pass on any praise/threats - Among mine, I've got some Zelda and Deathnote-inspired pieces that videogame/manga/anime fans would like

I really like the tone of it. It starts out calm and get's fast paced. We could totally use this for the space shooter and have the gameplay coincide with the music.

EDIT: Ooooooh, from 4:20 on could start the boss fight. Also, are there and copy rights on the coin collection sound from Mario? If so we'd need to take that out.

Our ideas are still up right?

At first I was like... Meh it's OK.
But then at the 1:38 mark I thought it was awesome! This song or at least one of your songs NEED to be used!

RE: Project DYKG (Official Thread). - Equinox - 07-06-2012 03:08 AM

I really like the idea of calming slow paced music with fast paced action. It just looks really cool when it happens in movies. That being said, I feel like this one could be used for the last boss or something.

EDIT: I really like your dubstep.

I like your thinking !
If I'm given the timings of what happens when in the level, I can a segment loop as much as we need.
As for the coin sound, I'll remove it and put another similar sound (bosses battle-cry?)

Hmmm, perhaps some kind of huge, slow-moving boss ?
And thanks, we try to dabble in many different styles Smile

Holy shit, this would be a perfect song for a boss fight. I can even imagine it being something like a final boss fight. It starts with a dialogue that doesn't go any faster just so it follows the build up of the music, at around 1:10 he starts transforming and then at around 1:30 the dialogue ends, the boss who is now in it's true form (something that looks like pure evil) start to fly a few feet from the ground and at 1:35 the battle really begins.

It would be epic

Hey I know this is asking a lot but since you seem to be very very talented when it comes to music could you try do a kind of progressive rock song similar to this song:

Many thanks Big Grin
I'll note down what everyone says about the pieces to make sure we don't forget

Thanks it's just I have a level idea and I want the music to have a kind of ambience yet be rock infused, I'm almost certain that whatever you create I will be impressed with regardless!

Here are a few of my ideas for combinations of gameplay and theme

Racing + Roman Coliseum Chariots. Possibly have it start in a Coliseum, but leading to a chase/chariot fight in the wilderness and, just to make it cool, along a cliff. Different character's would have different chariots, capable of different things (which lead to different tracks through the wilderness) and have different speeds, armor, and abilities.

Action/Stealth + Steampunk. Have the character need to break into a massive steampunk factory or industrial complex for whatever reason. One of the character's could be a steampunk ninja, where they sneak through the place because they aren't very effective in direct combat. Another character has a huge boomstick and can just blow people away, but they have to fight through the security. They might not be able to find some of the secret passages, but they can storm their way into the security barracks and find their own secrets there.

I like the different character things for Action/ Stealth. Here's just my idea on it. How about like a 2D platformer with action/stealth? Almost like a Megaman type feel but not exactly.

I was actually imagining it as a mix between Megaman and Castlevania.
