I already wrote the PLOT! So that's one part done ^_^

Characters... easy enough to do, bunch of ideas again, but I would need ideas from people!

As for the script... do we really need some? games can be cool without scripts.

I think that all aspects of the game will have to reach a common consensus before being set in stone (though I doubt that there will be too much opposition Tongue )

If this was held in a chatroom or something then ideas would likely be able to flow at a faster pace. Then the finalized ideas/concepts can be put into a game design document I think and then that's when it'd be time to start to workworkwork.

When I say script, more like the planned dialog so when the programmers put it in the game they can just copy and paste, that is what i meant

I'm not trying to promote this site in anyway. There was a forum I used to go on before this one. It's been pretty dead for a while, but it has a working chat system. We could easily sign up real fast and just use the chat. Would any of you be down for it?

We could also use google docs. It's free, everyone can work on a document at the same time, and it has a built in chat system on each document.

EDIT: I feel really dumb now, because I posted this BEFORE I read everything that was said about the project.

But at least now we know that you're up for the same train of though as the rest of us Exclamation
Let's get the ball rolling and work out the bigger aspects of the project rather than straight away deciding who will do what for what level etc.
We need
1. Story
2. Platform to develop the game
3. People on-board, listing their competences (relevant to what the game-making platform can cater for)
4. Various game genres that would happen during the levels

Ok, why don't we break down a list of who will be working on what.

Story:
**Plot:
**Names/Characters:
**Script/Dialog:
Art:
**Concept:
**3D/Sprites:
**Backgrounds:
Programming:
**Game play:
**User Interface:
**Level Design (work with Art):
Music:
**Menu Music:
**Levels:
**Character Motifs:
Testing:
**Game play:
**Errors/Bugs:

I can help in regards with game testing as I can't do much else yet. I'm still learning how to program in certain languages =P.

Count me in! I can do maybe a couple music pieces if they're wanted, and I can help with brainstorming for whoever needs it. Everyone needs a couple good heads to bounce ideas off of Smile

Everyone's contribution are wanted!

I think we should appoint some form of leader for this then we can start getting concrete ideas formed...

RE: Collaberate on a game? - Equinox - 07-04-2012 06:45 AM

I vote Arjahn because this whole thing was his idea in the first place.

Well so far we have like 8 - 10 people willing to contribute, but we need someone to take the leadership role, and start a group on Google or something to get us organized, or at least get an admin to give us our own sub channel to post and lock threads. and we can have everyone work that way maybe

You think I could help with like a theme song? It'll be like rock sounding.

If anyone wants to try out the a fore mentioned site's chat system, here it is: http://vgdistrict.com/home
You need to make an account, but it's very quick and easy.
