There's a ton out there, and many people have one that has always been better than all the others. What is yours and why?

I'd say the one I've spent most time on is WoW but my favorite would have to be Guild Wars

I have played a bunch of them but none of them really compare to that first time I entered IF as a gnome mage back in 07 (I did not get to play before then) and I was just amazed at not only the music playing but everyone wearing a wide variety of armor and wielding all sorts of weapons, some that glowed and so did not but still looked awesome.

I haven't played an MMO since 2004-2005. Back then I played a lot of MapleStory, so I would have to say that MapleStory might be my favorite one. Gunbound was pretty fun as well.

Yeah, I mostly play MapleStory as well. Leveled up a good bit, tedious tasks completed, but I then I dunno. I got somewhat bored of it. I may try and boot it up again and see what's new.

Actually, my favorite is LOTRO (Lords Of The Ring Online). One of my friends showed me and it ain't that bad. I mostly play the game because they need me though.

The undisputed champion is WoW.

The only MMO's I've ever really played is WoW and The Old Republic.

I didn't really like WoW that much. It just wasn't much fun to me. But The Old Republic was pretty awesome.

Until now, WoW was the only one that never really bored me. But when I played it my HD was too small (only 80GB), so I eventually had to uninstall it.

But I don't think I'd restart playing WoW. In the end, it's not very diferent from all the others.

Yesterday the Continent of the Ninth open beta started. It has a more action-based gameplay, so it might be interesting. I'm trying to download the game all day, but that shitty server is too slow, interrupts the download and has no support for resuming! Has someone here managed to download the game?

As horrible as it is, I used to have a blast playing Runescape with my friends. It was our first real MMO, and despite how crappy it's become, it used to be simpler and a lot more fun to just party in the Hill Giant caverns.

Oh man don't get me started on how much fun Runescape used to be. I remember cutting magic trees in that elven area and fishing for lobsters and we did a few parties where the 3 headed black dragon was and doing Castle Wars.
Great times indeed.

I still log in on Runescape one or two times every year, just to see how it's doing, but I never really knew what to do. I used to start a lot of quests and rarely finishing them. That Romeo & Juliet quest was very fun, though.

But the fact that almost everything possible in the game is blocked for free players always made me mad. The map is huge, but you're only allowed to explore, like, 1/5 of it! Awful way of getting some bucks out of the game, if you ask me. I know they've been doing it years before in-game micro transactions were a proved way of successful business model, but couldn't they just rearrange this so Runescape goes the same way too? It would be a lot fairer to everybody.

I would have to go with Runescape. I put a lot of time into it, and I loved it growing up.
I don't remember my info, because I quit after being hacked and losing all my stuff a few years ago. I did make an account just to login and check whats going on, though.

Ragnarok Online.
I've spent around 7~8 years of my life playing that. I'm probably a bit rusty now but I used to know the game like the palm of my hand.
Then the 3rd classes appeared. End game.
