There's no discussion that can be had besides the one we're actually having right now - the other points of favourite games and such there's the discussion of why they're good. You can say you're a woman because that's just how you're born. There's no debate, it just a fact of who you are.

I'm not going to deny them their option to the topic, I'm not closing it. I'm just stating my opinion on the discussion and how it's pointless. I perhaps stated it as more factual that opinionated, but I'm just putting it out there that nobody should care if you're M or F. Brings nothing to the table, and people shouldn't feel uncomfortable if they are X or Y, and if they do then I'd hope that's nothing involved in the forum and rather them personally, as that's something which would perhaps be involved in prior experiences.
Which I doubt we could assist in.

If you find it so pointless why did you comment on it anyway? No one here is aiming to treat anyone differently because of their gender.
An american going to study abroad in japan for example, will probably hope to find another american studying abroad too so they wont feel personally isolated. They dont aim to treat the others differently because of their ethnicity or nationality but for personal comfort sake. No one likes feeling like an outcast.

well, there goes this thread. >:/

Everyone, relax.

This thread is about asking girls if they are girls.

Let's keep it this way.

Don't get me wrong, if it makes you feel better, all the more to you. I'm just stating, that this is dumb to me. It doesn't matter. Perhaps because I'm a cynical bastard, but just saying that if it's a concern, I can't really relate to that.

Your analogy doesn't work with me, because a post on the internet is genderless... I'm not here asking people if they're British, because again, it's of no concern...

I have a confession. I'm not a girl.

RE: I'm of female descent...anyone else? - Cinna - 07-03-2012 12:49 AM

so it's fine if we post in a topic and say that we don't like it? do you really think that kind of attitude promotes activity? if we all did that, we'd be discouraged to make topics, which would lead to decreasing activity, decreasing overall interest in the forums, and decreasing traffic.

basically what i'm trying to get at, is if you didn't like this topic, you didn't have to make it publicly known. we understand that you're not interesting in it by seeing that you're not posting and contributing.

RE: I'm of female descent...anyone else? - Dazz - 07-03-2012 12:51 AM

You'd rather a forum of nodding heads than discussion? If that's the case, I doubt I've been running my large community of 8 years correctly. Debate causes extension to interest. Seeing people nod, agree and be positive about everything is as interesting as watching the same episode of Friends over and over.

... there is no debate here. it's just a topic asking if there are other female members. they like it, it has posts, leave it be.

generally on other forums, when someone randomly comes into a topic saying that they don't like it, they're told not to post in the first place and to keep it to themselves. not everything has to be an argument, or "debate" if that's what you call them.

RE: I'm of female descent...anyone else? - Dazz - 07-03-2012 12:58 AM

I'm not saying I don't like it... I'm saying that I don't believe it matters. There is a huge difference.

RE: I'm of female descent...anyone else? - Cinna - 07-03-2012 01:00 AM

saying "this topic doesn't matter" is practically like saying it shouldn't exist, that it's stupid, etc

if that doesn't mean you don't like it, then idk what anything is anymore

RE: I'm of female descent...anyone else? - tokki - 07-03-2012 01:07 AM

"I'm saying that I don't believe it matters"

"I'm"

Just because something doesnt matter to you, doesnt mean it's the same for someone else.

This forum is filled with topics that have in depth discussions and fun quick chatter topics. Let people have their fun every once in a while.

RE: I'm of female descent...anyone else? - Dazz - 07-03-2012 01:09 AM

Sorry, in the future I'll refrain from stating my opposing opinion on anything, even while accepting the alternative opinion. I guess you're right, and I'm wrong.
