Are there any cult classics that nobody knows about but are super awesome! Talk about 'em here.

My favorite cult classic would have to be Phantom Crash. It's a fast-paced mech-combat game for the original XBOX. The combat is fun and there is quite a bit of customization for your mech, including the AI inside your mech that helps you out during combat.

Divinity II: Ego Draconis

I don't really know if it fits your "cult classics that nobody knows about but are super awesome!" tag, as I'm pretty sure some people know the game. However, it does fall into the "Games that reviews screwed but are super awesome" category.
For those who don't know about the game, it's a RPG on the tracks of Kingdoms of Amalur where you can allocate your skill and stats anywhere you like w/o taking a class path. The base-game ending was completely "What the heck is this" but the complete remastered game + expansion manage to give it a proper ending.

I don't know what you mean about a "Cult Classic", but, for me, I think it's an old game that everybody loves, soooo...

I guess my cult classic would be "Dig Dug".

Everyone always seems to forget about Double Dragon when talking about classic games, but I thought it was super awesome.

Raptor: Call of the shadows

the only decent shoot'em up ever released for PC

I'd totally forgotten about Raptor! I had a shareware version of it, along with Blake Stone.

I also remember some great, early DOS games. Plebs, Gorilla, Beast and the like.

in 2010 they made a remake (which is just the same game , only in higher resolution) which runs on all modern operating systems.

I may have to get that. I remember it being pretty good in terms of upgrading your weapons and stuff. It seemed surprisingly in-depth for what it was.

Xenogears, best RPG ever.

- Clash at Demonhead
- Deja Vu

I loved Deja Vu as a kid, as an adult I love it even more. It's hard for me to enjoy point and click games, but Deja Vu always stuck with me.

Have to go with Paper Boy. Was never any good at it but it never stopped me trying

Double Dragon was a pretty huge when it came out and when people talk about beat em' ups they often mention it. Is it really a cult thing?

I'd say no. Double Dragon was big when it came out, I remember quite clearly everyone playing the shit out of it. It was one of those games that my mom wouldn't buy us, so my brother and I would go to our buddies house to play.

Right? I'm pretty sure Double Dragon or Battletoads were the game that introduced the beat em' up genre for most of the people in my generation and those close to it.

I remember mom not letting us buy it because it would make me and my brother violent. So one day we went to a friend's house to try it out. The first thing my brother did when we got home was punching me in the face while shouting "DOUBLE DRAGON!". I guess mom were right that time..

Yeah, it was huge...but tends to just be completely forgotten these days. Many a night as a kid doing 2-player with a friend on it and kicking each other off ladders rather than actually trying to beat the game.
