RE: The Free Thread - SERIOUSLY THOUGH - 11-02-2012 10:59 AM

There is a cat asleep on my bed. I want to go to bed. If I go to bed the cat will wake up at some point and want to leave my room. My door will be closed. Cat will scratch and meow. Perhaps at my face...

After that stream of consciousness, I've decided that the cat will have to be displaced. Sorry cat.

So, if you play Gears of War 2/3 (as in, 2 or 3, not two thirds) you know that it's a 5v5 type of game, right? Right.

So tell me, why on earth would you NOT want someone you know to play with you instead of having randoms on your team? Sure, those randoms could be good, or could be very crappy. Most of the time, they kill steal on purpose and they don't listen. A person you know listens, only takes the kill of someone else if it's a dire situation and you should know if they're good or not.

So, for the past couple of days I ask my friend if they're looking for someone else (a key to say, may I join in) and they either lie and say they're almost done or just say no (the latter is rare and the former happens more often). I just don't understand why you would rather play with randoms than people you actually know.

It seems like your friend IS that randomer who doesn't listen and kill steals. Basically
"I don't want to join because I'm getting a lot of kills". Or just, no. I don't mind playing with randomers. I also steal my friends kill (and they do to me) because of the friendly understanding, it also gives us a better attitude to get the match over with than bickering over stealing kills and potentially losing. I also prefer to play with friends. But you get those that will be play with anyone regardless just to keep their Rank/KBig Grin/W:L up.

Ah, the complicated mess that is online multiplayer for a game I don't particularly care for.

@BumblebeeCody: I love how you tried to spell K:D but forgot to turn off emoticons. :P

He's not one of those randoms though. He's a good player. Oh well.

RE: The Free Thread - Hexadecimal - 11-03-2012 03:30 AM

When I didn't work so much I used to volunteer at the local animal shelter. I have a buddy that still does, though, so I get to hear about stuff that goes on. I guess yesterday a woman surrendered her cat because it clawed the shit out of her toddler. Chances are the kid deserved it, and she's an idiot who left the two alone together, but whatever the reason the shelter ended up with the cat. Apparently it's a super sweet cat that my friend just might adopt herself after the cat gets its routine health check before being put up for adoption.

I still remember the time we got in this monster sized golden lab named Orion. He absolutely loved people but had anxieties about being left alone and also didn't realize just how big he was. He actually knocked me over and would relentlessly try and lick your face. One day we thought he'd finally found someone to adopt him but he was returned shortly after since, even though we warned the lady he shouldn't be by himself, she left him home and he actually panicked so bad he busted a window. He did eventually find a home but it's so awful when pets get returned since it's so stressful for them to be jerked around like that.

Halo 4 is inside my Xbox right now. Goodbye social life.

Don't play it online or you will get banned from Xbox Live. In fact, I would play it safe and not play it at all until Tuesday.

@Ouberry_13
A complicated mess? Hardly. It's just join a game and play.

@cingchris #1175
Whoops

@Hexadecimal
Nice to see that cat is finding a good home Big Grin

@A Zombie Riot
Only if his Xbox is modded and, just completed Borderlands 2. Big Grin

It doesn't matter. If you're playing the game before the release, you'll get banned. Unless a store actually broke the street date and he has proof, then he'll be fine. If not, he will get banned.

I've yet to have seen a case of someone playing a game even a week before release date being banned. If it's legit you're fine. What would result in being banned? It's legit, it's not a modded console, it's not a month but only a few days before release. Those who work in Game retailers can play a game a week before release and be fine, some online stores ship games early Supermarkets have been known to deliberately break street dates. So...no, you can't be banned.

RE: The Free Thread - The Antagonist - 11-03-2012 10:59 AM

The videogame store (it's called GAME, I'm sure it's un UK too) sent me a phone message that I can go and get my Halo 4 copy. So I just went there and bought it. Funny thing though, 3-4 hours after I got the game, GAME sent me another message saying "Dear customer, we apologize for the notification about the availability of Halo 4, the game will be available next Tuesday 6th".

Emm... not my fault, hahaha.

Usually it doesn't matter, but Microsoft doesn't like it this time with Halo 4.

Like I said, if he got it legitly, he'll be fine, otherwise he won't.
