In the data of Minecraft, you can find textures of unused items and mobs, such as a Ruby, the Quiver, a Pigman, and probably a lot more. You can also find prototype names in the data, like Hell Rock (Netherack), Hell Sand (Soul Sand), and Lit Pumpkin (Jack O' Lantern).

Just look in the files, they have a ton of unused material in there.
In a related note, in the TF2 files there's a lot of goodies. There are killfeed icons that aren't in use, and months before Mann vs. Machine was released, there were unused models for many of the robot heads, even one for the robo-Engineer head, which wasn't officially released until this December.

Nope. I was trying to make my own small mods, and I found all this weird stuff.
