Asylum: Kickstart the Horror! - Xannidel - 01-30-2013 05:46 AM

So there has been a game I have been mentioning from time and time again by the name of "Asylum" and it recently got greenlit on Steam and they are now holding a kickstarter campaign.
Here is the link: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agustincordes/asylum-kickstart-the-horror

The game is a point and click adventure game with horror elements. If anyone has time to do so I highly recommend you check GoG.com for a game called "Scratches" because that is another game that they made early in the 2000s.

They also have a demo out right now so if you check their facebook (not sure if they have twitter) then I highly recommend you check them out and their demo and maybe invest a small amount of money for them. I invested $100 because they have sold me so much on the demo and their previous works.

Thank you all!

*EDIT*

Bumping because they have less then 10 days and they are a little past the 90% marker.

I downloaded and it's already annoying.
It's promising so far but those two points are annoying me. Also, no Menu and why won't it close? Even End Tasking it doesn't work. Didn't think that was possible.
Sorry fer moaning but damn. Not many options to change in the Configuration file Sad

I wanted to change the configuration file so it wouldn't play in full screen. Got it sorted, me being stupid.
Yeah, seems pretty good! I like how it's atmospheric scary rather than jump scare scary.

Definitely seems like they developers are wanting to make a serious horror game than what we generally have now.
I got spooked by the dude in room 114A(I think) and when I examined the teddy bear in the toilet, I was worried about turning around.
The sound design, DAYUM that's good. Most notably when you're in the dining room or walking down the holding cell corridor (with head phones) you get a truly high quality sound effects that fit the game and improve upon the experience.

Thanks for link. The only reason I held from playing it is because it was being hyped as another indie scare game rather than a game to be taken seriously. But the introduction video from the developers and this demo alone easily puts it above most of that crap on YouTube. I'll chip in and most likely buy it when it comes out.

The teddy bear IS a reference to Scratches

Also when you exit the cafeteria and see the vines, click on the vines like 5 times. It's funny.

If you want to you can, I will be streaming it this weekend by myself because while I want to do a duo commentary with my friend I also want to stream it before the kickstarter ends. I am going to contact Senscape to let them know this because Agustis is an awesome guy and I believe he will help promote my twitch for this purpose. I will also update my stream thread soon with more details.

RE: Asylum: Kickstart the Horror! - Mass Distraction - 02-20-2013 10:33 PM

So I'll get a downloadable version of this game for 15 bucks... I'm up for that.

Yup digital version for $15 is not too bad at all if I do say so myself =]
Plus there is an interactive trailer that you can play that shows off the Dagon engine.

You but you actually contribute to the forum in a positive manner. So that's the difference between shamelessly and not
