Where do you see this site in 5 years? - retrolinkx - 01-20-2013 08:49 AM

So guys, where do you see this site in 5 years, in 2018, or at least what are your expectations? Still Alive? Dead? New Mods? Maybe a New Admin?

For me, I hope this becomes bigger, we're already well known now, but I really want there to be some more members and such, the ones we have now are great, but there are some lack of threads, and discussion. I also really want a chat too.

As for the future, I suspect more moderators, adding on to the current team of the alive and dead ones, as well as some more boards to visit, it'd be nice for something different in the future. All I hope is that we won't die soon, or the Admin leaves us.

The one thing I really don't want is for the cool users we have to leave, who are usually the people who have a lot of posts.

What about you guys?

In five years time, I see this forum still subsisting, so long as members keep joining and people keep posting Smile

There will also no doubt be more moderators to stem the inevitable flow of idiots that stem from an increase in membership.

Also, in five years time, we will hopefully still be here, chatting away in the chatbox on the side of the screen.

I've been a member on Resident Evil Forums for about 3 and a half years and the place has existed for about 5. So, in conclusion, if a forum specific to one subject has existed and been active for this long, then a forum as broad and well organized as this one should have no problems with that. I, for one, am not leaving. It took me ages to find another forum where people would be active (and not complete dicks) so I ain't throwing that away.

Most forums site die in about 5 years, but since the community is active here, I guess it will still be active.

We never know, this site is full of pretty intelligent users and such, no one seems to hate each other, I've been on a forum for nearly 5 years, and the site is pretty bad, it's got some nice users and all, but many are hateful and the entire site longs for 2008.

If this site gets too many retards, starting fights and such, the forum might get worse, and we'll all either leave, or long for the site before all of this.

Well i have lurked here long enough so i registered.

I actually see this site to expand but i want it to expand towards to like imdb.com kinda direction.
I mean place where you could search your favorite games and see if there's intresting trivia and clearly see who was the head chief of it. Even track composers, coders whatever.
Maybe have that star rating system tough i do understand how it can be manipulated by superfanboy communities. I also think that imdb:ees star rating is pretty good now.

I mean making images is good way to spread your site but like imdb it doesen't need to advertise. It's there and everyone uses it who like movies and movie trivia.

Tough going from gaming trivia site to "the ultimate gaming database" is insane leap. I just want that kinda site and this site has potential to be that site. Many have tried but like http://thegamesdb.net/ crashes because it just want's more games and not to go deeper inside those games. I mean if you write a game there you mostly get nothing else but release year, story from back cover and company that made it. Not even names who were charge of it...

Maybe starting that site from trivia is good idea.
Not from games base information but exactly from that deep aspect and small tales behind those games.

These images should be nothing more than posters for this huge site of knowledge and not just trivia...

Dunno, if you want huge image site that is good for me too. Good enough to register here...
