In World of Warcraft, the Singing Pools are a number of ponds on the Wandering Isle that change the player into different animals when they enter them. These are a reference to the Cursed Pools from Ranma 1/2, a manga/anime series in which the main character, Ranma, becomes cursed with changing into a girl when submerged in cold water after falling into The Cursed Pool of the Drowned Girl. Other characters also become cursed within the series, namely Genma as a panda, Ryoga as a Piglet, Shampoo as a cat and Mousse as a duck.
