Kingdom Hearts: Vincent Valentine - Pogue-Mahone - 12-01-2012 12:24 PM Vincent Valentine was originally going to appear in the first Kingdom Hearts, but was replaced by Cloud Strife. Cloud's KH appearance has a few elements of Vincent's costume, like the red cape and metal claw. Tetsuya Nomura was questioned about the resemblance in an interview, and confirmed that Cloud's costume was a nod to Vincent, and that he wanted to put Vincent in the game: --Also, about Cloud, isn't the left-hand side of his design modelled on FFVII's Vincent? Nomura: Yes, his left arm is in Vincent's image. This time, in this setting, Cloud is leaning towards the dark side, and I wanted to make him a bit more demon-like. And, since Vincent was exactly that kind of design, I just added it in.
