In Fallout 3 there are mutated bears called "Yao Guai" In Chinese Mythology, "Yao Guai" refer to a physical manifestation of the spirit of a mistreated animal or fallen divine animal.
The quest "Those!" is a reference to a 1954 sci-fi movie called "Them!". In the film, atomic testing results in normal ants being mutated in to large man-killing ones. Bryan's suggestion to "shoot them in the antenna" alse refers to a memorable quote from the film.
