The statues that hold the 3 pearls in Windwaker each have a unique feature that match the Pikmin, "Red Pikmin have pointed noses like Din's statue, and Din is represented by the colour red. Blue Pikmin have mouths like Nayru's statue and, as you may have guessed, Nayru is commonly associated with the colour blue.
Farore's statue has ears like Yellow Pikmin, but obviously there's a colour mismatch here due to there being no green Pikmin"
