The end of an era. - retrolinkx - 11-04-2012 12:50 PM

Today, after 20 years of faithful service, I am getting a new T.V, a 32 inch, 1080p TV.

My family has had a 28 inch, 480p, standard definition T.V. since 1992, and it is finally going to be replaced.

I've been gaming on that since 1999, when it was the same status as the new one I'm getting.

Still, it's going in another room, so it can be used there.

How about you guys, when did you finally upgrade, or do you still have your original?

Also, I just found out that I can put my PC onto the screen, so in theory I could play Dreamcast games on there in 1080p.

Went HD about five years ago. Now there's four of them in the house, and one CRT packed away.

Hmm in my other house I have a big bulky TV that I play my SNES on...

About 6 years ago, actually. My TV at the time costed us about $1000. I love it to death. My computer is currently hooked up to it, since I have no actual monitor.

It's a 42". It's nice. And I get to play games, watch TV and browse the internet all from the comfort of my bed.

Good times when you hook your PC up to a TV with up-scaled emulator games. So goatlike!

We only got a new TV when the good old CRT broke.

Ah, the good days when it would take 10 minutes to find the right channel that displayed the N64

Press the A/V button.

That's the thing, it wasn't on the a/v channels on my TV. It was just faffing around channel 38 if I remember rightly

Last year was the first time I personally owned an HD TV for my own use. Then, it got destroyed...now I'm borrowing my aunt's old HD TV she no longer uses (for no explained reason, since it works wonderfully), and I won't be owning my own TV until we get a new house.

Pfft, I'm still playing on a tube TV. A big one, but it's sill a tube.

Seeing as I had to leave my 360 in Europe, I brought it down to our place in the mountains that has a TV from the early 80's.

Playing GTA IV via scart = the real deal

I'm still rocking an old Tuber in my basement.

If only I could get a new TV, I still have a 2 ton 4:3 piece of crap from many, many, years ago.

We got a new T.V last year, 42 inch, but I've still got my old 17 inch T.V in my room to play my video games, and have no desire to buy a new one until it can't work Smile

Still playing on ma old one T.V. What kind it is, I have no clue because I never payed attention to that. We do have a flat screen in the kitchen, but mother refuses to switch the ps3 to that one.
