Goku vs Superman - Gahmstead - 10-29-2012 12:13 PM
The title says it all. If these two power houses clashed, assuming neither would hold back for any reason, who do you think would win?
I think if we're talking Superman as he is currently in comics against Goku at the very end of DBZ, Goku would win. Any time his fight with Frieza, I would probably go the other way. By the time the Buu saga rolls around, I think Goku is strong enough to hurt Superman without exploiting his weaknesses (magic, Kryptonite, red solar energy, etc). There is also the theory that chi is a form of magic, which would work against Superman's weakness. That's not to say that it is completely one sided.
What do you guys think?

Have Goku wear kryptonite wristbands and boots and go SSJ2 or SSJ3 and bam GG.
Upon further thinking I have to still go with Goku, yeah Goku could exploit Superman's weakness but I doubt he would. But given the fact that Superman HAS that weakness, I believe Goku would only use that weakness if Superman was doing harm to citizens.

I have no idea how Superman currently is in the comics, nor how Goku is at the very end of DBZ.
However, I say Superman, because by the time Goku has finished charging his power and shouting about it, Superman could have easily just slowly eroded him with a nail file

The DBZ show was ridiculous with that stuff.
In the next exciting episode of Dragonball Z: Will Goku finally butter his toast?
If you ever read the manga series that everything else came from, the pacing is way better. The story actually moves with a fluidity, and I feel you get a better idea of the strengths of the various characters. Especially Kuririn. The anime made him a joke.

I have the Manga series on Dragonball in which he has no idea about his surroundings and for DBZ they got the character right in the anime. He's a master of fighting but not intelligent outside of that area.
I think Goku would probably win. Though Superman wouldn't go down easy.
(Using Kryptonite is cheating really).

How many DBZ characters does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Just one, but it takes five episodes to do it.
I don't really keep up with either character, but Superman seems like such an over powered Mary-Sue I'd say him.
It was hilarious how they tried to rid him of that in the newer Justice League cartoon and made him way too much of a pansy in the first season. He kept getting his ass handed to him.

So far in the new 52, he's a pretty solid-no BS-character now (From how much I've been reading).
Also, Dragonball Z had around 300 episodes...One Piece, Naruto and Bleach however...

....yea, but the actual meaning of power levels kinda went away halfway through the Frieza saga. They really became meaningless once the androids came in. And then there was almost no mention of them ever again in the Buu saga. So, taking this from the abridged series, "power levels are bullshit!"

Oh, I hate the Buu saga. I thought it should have ended after Cell. He was the perfect villain, having all the Z Fighters abilities, but none of their weaknesses. But nooooo, we just had to make the 'real' final enemy a pink blob monster.

Plus they made Piccolo USELESS! He did so much in every saga and then this one he was a pacifist! Also kid Trunks put Future Trunks to shame :/

Being a pink blob monster didn't make him any less than a challenging foe.
Piccolo was a strong enemy for Goku in Dragonball but became friends with Goku, and then a mentor. He was pretty meh in Dragonball Z

I liked Piccolo throughout Dragonball Z, like when he fused with Kami to be Super Piccolo I was pretty psyched because of his trials and tribulations through the franchise. Then they shit all over it in the Buu Saga (he pussies out of the World Martial Arts Tourny, He does not fight Buu in ANY of his forms, he gets ABSORBED by Buu (which I believe was the only time his power was actually brought out) and that was it. I mean okay he taught Goten and Trunks the fusion dance and all that jazz but that was pretty much it.
