Both Heroes III and Zombies Ate My Neighbors pay homage to the theme from the movie adaptation of Stephen King's book "The Shinning". In Heroes of Might and Magic III, the theme is used for the Necropolis, the undead faction town. In Zombies Ate My Neighbors, the theme is used first in Level 7, labeled Dr. Tongue's Castle of Terror.
