A nice, working chat (The return of the gamer) - Nicknclank - 10-21-2012 03:43 PM

Yeah, anyway, I made a thread about it at the BEGINNING of the forums. when I asked about it, you guys said "Yeeeeeeah, we should wait till we have more people on."

Look, I think we have enough people to be able to do the exact replica of the Titanic with everyone sinking. Or, to be more precise, enough to make a new record as the most people in a thumb wrestling chain (Did You Know the record is 957?)

So anyway, a chat would be cool now. Skype sucks, MSN never gets used, Facebook bombards you with notifications and MySpace... (... wait, what?)

I'm sure it's easy to make, but I'm a noob, so I may have said something dumb ^_^. But if it's possible, I think a lot of people will use it.

So, what do you guys think about it?

A chat function would be real nice I think. Sometimes you just want to chat with the fine people of this forum without having to post and wait for someone to reply.

I used to be a part of a forum where the chatbox was huge. Would be nice to see one but if it's not made...meh.

There aren't that many people active to warrant one, IMO. I mean, the most I've seen online at a time was like 6.

I'll look into it.

Well if the guests could use it as guest (some random number) there would actually be quite a bit of activity on there 'cause including guests there is always at least 10 people on, just almost never 10 members on at the same time.

Nah I think the chat should only be used by members otherwise guests can just spam/flame the chat and there would be no way to ban them unless you can ban their IP or something like that.

I remember my Mum used to say that ^_____^

It usually meant "NO!"
Sad

I was just thinking that - hopefully it won't be the case. I'd enjoy a chat window

:O

Great Scott, God has just "agreed" to something I wrote. I may now die between a pair of roasted clowns shooting squid-squirrels.

Actually I just remembered how that gets countered, most chats that allow guests to speak will block a user for 5 minutes or so if they start spamming the chat. (If you want an example of that Twitch.tv does that, the only difference is that guests can't chat there. [All the sites I know of that allow guests do illegal things, so I'm not sure if I can mention them without breaking forum rules])
