Resident Evil Did You Knows? - Laughingboy - 10-11-2012 03:30 PM

Thought I would make a thread for this if you guys want, what with it being October and you know, RE6 just came out.

Anywho, I'll start.

In Resident Evil 5's downloadable mission "Lost in Nightmare", if you try to leave the mansion through the front door 3 times, you will be able to play the mission using the camera angle style of the original 3 games where the camera stayed in fixed angles, rather than using the dynamic, behind the back camera controlled by the player.

Here's a video showing you how to do it.

Your link doesn't work on my end

I've added another link illustrating your point

Thanks for the warning. I fixed my link now so anyone can use either one at this point. Didn't think to embed though...

Did you know the Resident Evil has a habbit of scrapping its first idea?

Claire didn't exist. Instead a college girl named Elza Walker was in her place. And other things like Ada Wong being named Linda and John(Ada's boyfriend) was still alive and acted as a Elza's helper.

Leon was plopped into a mansion/castle like environment looking much like he does in Resident Evil 4. But a lot of changes. Leon was infected by the virus. So not only would he be fighting B.O.Ws he would be imagining them as well. It had a fixed camera but still kept the over the shoulder shooting. And it is well known by now that most of the aspects in this version became Devil May Cry.

Speculation by me: Watching the video above you can see a tentacle monster in a cloud of smoke following Leon. While never confirmed I assumed this idea became Uroboros in Resident Evil 5.

Jill Valentine is with the African branch of BSAA. When the new virus has her forced her to hold up along with BSAA Africa leader Sheva Alomar in a barricaded town. Chris and Barry come to her rescue.
I would go on but pretty much the game is entirely different besides the setting and a few character points like Chris training constantly and becoming buff to fight Wesker. Read the link for the full version, its worth it.

To be honest I was looking forward the the Resident Evil 4 original idea more then the one they came up with. I was only 13 or 14 at the time when I first saw the teaser for the original RE4 and it was so cool to play Leon who was hallucinating AND infected. I know they still had him as an infected Las Plagas victim and all that but the original plot looks eerie and spooky.

Yeah, unfortunately they've been consistently throwing away the "scary" in favor for a more, what I've heard to be called "Michael Bay" type of experience. =/ The change in controls and the camera angles really helped though. I understand that the backgrounds in 1-3 were pre-renders and so you couldn't have a dynamic camera, but 4 really had a more comfortable feel. Hasn't aged well in my opinion, but I thought from that standpoint at least, it was an improvement.

I'm pretty sure that this is an old one, but I'll give it a shot. If you position Ashley above you and look up, she definitely reacts to what you're doing.

I'll post a new RE DYK.

In Resident Evil 6 Mercenaries mode on the map Urban Chaos there is an arcade. Each arcade machine features old Capcom games.

This video identifies most of them. He wasn't able to place some of the Japanese ones.
