League of Legends Did You Know? thread - ChibiRiri - 10-10-2012 01:17 PM

Hello! I'm a new member in this forum.
As you can see, I'm a huge fan of League of Legends, (and also lots of other series like Kingdom Hearts and Touhou) and I just find some intriguing things about this particular multiplayer game.
You're free to discuss any references, hidden easter eggs and all that stuff in this thread. No OOT, though. If you want some strategical tips, send me a message.
I will also be posting hidden Trivias in League that I have already discovered. Over time, that is.

Youmuu's Ghostblade, the Attack Damage and Critical Strike item in League of Legends is a reference to Youmu Konpaku in the Touhou series.

Wriggle's Lantern, the Attack Damage, Armor and Lifesteal item is yet another Touhou reference in League of Legends, this time to the first boss of Touhou 8: Imperishable Night, Wriggle Nightbug.

During the latest League update where the new champion Kha'Zix. the Voidreaver joins the roster, Twisted Fate, the Card Master's dance was changed into PSY's Gangnam Style. (Proof= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9H679Xfokw&feature=g-u-u)

Ezreal, the Prodigal Explorer's dance is also a reference to the famous dance from Haruhi Suzumiya, namely Hare Hare Yukai. (Proof= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kT1pPiKusOY)

Lux, the Lady of Luminosity was confirmed to be based on Marisa Kirisame from the Touhou series. This was shown by one of her quotes referring to herself as an "ordinary magician" and also shown by her ultimate, Finales Funkeln, which translates roughly into Final Spark, Marisa Kirisame's ultimate spell.

Mordekaiser, the Master of Metal's skills are all based on heavy metal songs. His skill names are as following:
Passive= Iron Man
Q= Mace of Spades (--> Ace of Spades)
W= Creeping Death
E= Siphon of Destruction (--> Symphony of Destruction)
R= Children of the Grave
Also, Mordekaiser has two quotes that includes references, and one fourth wall breaking quote.
-"Misery loves company." is yet another reference to a heavy metal song.
-"So be it.. Summoner." is a Star Wars reference. ("So be it.. Jedi.")
-"You only need to click once, fool." is a fourth wall breaking quote, referring to how some players have the habit of clicking on the same place repeatedly.

Akali, the Fist of Shadow's joke refers to how pro gamers feel about this game's matchmaking system. "So many noobs.. Will matchmaking ever find balance?"

Ezreal, when played with his legendary skin Pulsefire Ezreal, unlike any other skins, also changes all his quotes, including his taunt and joke.

Pulsefire Ezreal's joke is a reference to the Over 9000 meme. (Proof= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jNSWbxHDhvg&feature=relmfu)

That's all for now, have fun reading.

Just so you know, a little under half the dances of champions in League is a reference to some pop culture thing, here's a YouTube user showing it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FtsJLKw5aWA&list=PL8742F75EF72BE914&feature=plpp_play_all and a couple of my favorites.

I don't think I'll be posting any LOL stuff. I have nothing against it, but every LOL player I know already knew all of this.
