Not sure if it's been posted but I found it interesting; In the original Super Mario Bros box art- Mario is actually just about to die Sad

I dunno - he seems to be going up and to the right, suggesting he's coming from the lava. Also he doesn't appear to be on the same plane as the background.

I dunno dunno though yanow - there's never an instance in the game where there's bricks in the background plane, and the motion lines behind him suggest that he's about to ram into the wall. Also, there's no possible way he could jump UP from the lava, considering any contact at all would kill the jumpy lil' bastard. That all being said, he's shooting a fireball through a brick wall while he's touching lava, so I'm doubting that the cover art follows game logic at all.

How the shit can he be coming from the lava? The blocks being a different color was obviously done by the people who made the box art- as with the lines on Mario's back.

Waluigi, the sidekick of Wario and rival of Luigi, has actually had a small color change.

Since his first appearance in Mario Tennis back in 2000 and up to 2002 in Game & Watch Gallery 4, Waluigi's overalls had been black.

Since 2002 begining with Mario Party 4 (which was however released a couple months prior to Game & Watch Gallery 4), his overalls have been an eggplant purple color.

In Super Smash Bros. Brawl released in 2008, Waluigi's overall color appears to be back to black as so to resemble his first appearance back in 2000.

Did you know that on Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3 for the GBA you could upload extra content including up to 32 new stages per game with the e-Reader? Some of the types of cards in it were the demo card; showing tips and tricks by the developers, the power-up cards; which allow new power-ups to be added to the game, like the cape feather, and the switch card; which allows players to add projectiles from Super Mario Bros. 2 and do some other things. There were also level cards which allowed you to upload levels.

But your ignoring the fact that the sprite alignment doesn't match to the game sprite jump. Therefore

Another note is to include that back then jumping to the lava didn't do any harm it just for background uses.If it did then this would've happen:

So it stands to reason that we should learn always:

The fourth stage of Mario Zone in Super Mario Land 2 uses Nintendo's N&B block brand, building bricks made in the 1960s. The N&B logo is placed on one brick in the level.

That is quite the easter egg right there. It is as if Mario were a toy.
