How do I get my new laptop battery to charge? - BelleGaran - 09-28-2012 06:20 PM

Just got a new laptop battery for my Aspire One model because my last seemed to have died.

I plugged it in and it worked for about a half hour before hibernating and shutting off.
My laptop can only work with a battery, and now even plugged in it will sound like it's about to start up for two seconds and then shuts off. I can't tell if it's charging at all. What should I do?

You do realize this is a gaming forum and you'd receive a way better support at Acer official forums/support, right?

I wouldn't trust a website that says "Super-Long Standy Time Guaranteed!"

If your battery is in and it's an older computer, it probably needs a new battery. You can get one from Dell or from somewhere like Batteries Plus. The Dell will have Dell's name on it, but that's about all your are buying. Batteries PLus has the same quality batteries for a lot less.

It may be blue screening. Try starting it in safe mode.

Yup, and if you're not doing anything with your old one, may I recommend the following method of disposal?
