Zeldas Lullaby found in an old Book - Miwes - 09-27-2012 05:09 PM

Here is an Email, i sent to Dykg and now im posting it in the forum.

I found this myself and
dont know if it already known.
As a Child I had a german piano songbook, call the "Damm
Klavierschule", which was first released in the 19th century and from
then on released severeal editions (Dont know which edition i had, but
it was from the 1960s i think).
There was a song called "Wiegenlied" (The german word for lullaby) and
if you play it, it sounds nearly the same as Zeldas Lullaby. The pitch
of the notes is the same, only the value is a very little bit
different (the first note is a little shorter than the Zelda-Note).
But its pretty the same song, just a little bit longer.
At the bottom there are two poor pictures, taken with my old Nokia, one close up at
the Beginning of the song and a bigger one, where you can "see" the whole song at
the bottom right.

Does anyone know German enough to translate this:

I believe that they are talking about the very same thing.

Should I sue Nintendo?

I typed the beginning with TuxGuitar. As i said, the pitch of the notes are exact the same, only the value changing a little bit.

Isnt it a little bit unfair, suing Nintendo, because they used a song for this awesome game? Oh and i think i made a mistake, when i said, the pichtes are the same. I listened to the Zelda Version and it starts a step higher (b instead of a), but you can hear, they are very close.

"Everybody knows Zelda´s Lullaby (Zelda´s Lullaby). My brother is learning to play the piano a little bit as a side line from an older couple. She gave him an old piano-school-book, that was older than 50 years, so he can practice. The pages were completely yellow ect. He read it and found a song named 'Lullaby'. We instantly started to play it and it was completely identical. The same written music and all. Kinky, isn't it?
By the way: it's longer than it's played in 'The Legend Of Zelda'."

I tried my best -.-
