Donkey Kong Country - Berry - 09-24-2012 04:34 AM

The Rare Witch Project website once had previews of several upcoming enemies and characters for Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Among these enemies was a sinister looking character (or perhaps a generic enemy) simply dubbed "Mr. X". Mr. X was a phantasmagoric white Kremling with red eyes, wearing a large black jacket covered in army medals, he also possessed two small hooks for hands. Despite his status as a beta element, Mr. X somehow managed to be included in the official German player's guide, which cryptically states that he is a character no one known or has seen.

Additionally, a render of Mr. X is included in Nintendo Power, though the actual article makes no reference to it.

A Virtual Boy version of Donkey Kong Country 2 was in development for a short time, but was never completed due to the system's failure. Little else is known about this unmade version.

The Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest Instruction Booklet jokingly states that the Minus Barrel can send the Kongs to the Minus World. A reference to The infamous Minus World in Super Mario Bros.

In Diddy Kong Racing DS, when Dixie's animation square shows up when being used by the AI after she attacks the player with a weapon, is overtaken by the player, or is attacked by the player's weapon, the Rare logo can be seen on her beret (although it is silver instead of gold), despite the fact that Microsoft Game Studios purchased Rare from Nintendo since late 2002.

rare still made diddy kong racing DS because Microsoft let them because Microsoft had no handheld console plans.

But do you find it rather odd that Rare would go Silver instead of their usual Gold Logo?

Note:Too busy to actually read your post.I just read it right now.
