11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - A Zombie Riot - 09-11-2012 04:56 PM One of the darkest days in history in the US. Maybe not the darkest day, but it's definitely one of them. Today is the day that the twin towers were attacked. Today is the day where everything changed. Thousands and thousands of people lost their lives today. Firefighters lost their lives trying to save the people from the horrific accident. Lives were changed. Scars were had. Do you remember what you were doing on that dark day? ----- Me, I was at school, being outside for physical ed. I cannot imagine how scary it had to of been for the people in New York though. I watched the clip of both planes hitting the tower last year as the 10 anniversary. And I cried so hard. And then there were things on TV about it. My goodness. I was only 11 at the time so I had no idea what was actually going on. Sure, I was shocked and all that this happened, but I didn't know why or who and it took me many years to finally understand it. It almost breaks my heart just thinking about it. You watch the videos, and you can see people jumping out of the tower. It's so heartbreaking. Heck, I'm just tearing up right now just thinking about it. This is definitely something we all will remember for the rest of our lives. And hopefully the next generations never have to have something like this happen. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - Xannidel - 09-11-2012 09:31 PM While I do mourn for those who passed away, I do not believe this is the darkest even in history (Not even in United States history, but that is not for here or later) When I first heard about the twin towers being attacked I was in school I believe I was in 7th grade at the time. Of course it did not really phase me because I was not too sure about what to feel, I felt sad that people had to die and not for a good cause. Even when the Pentagon got attacked I was still not really sure what to feel. To anyone that had family on this tragic event, I do mourn and I am sorry that this even transpired. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - Symphony - 09-12-2012 02:02 AM I'm sorta with Xannidel, but I'm a bit more skeptical. As much as I am sorry for the people involved in the incident (both victims and families), tagging the event as the 'worse day in history' is plain bullshit created by the US. Since it goes way beyond the point of the thread and against the liberty of thoughts, I'm refraining myself from an unnecessary rage outburst. Always Remember. 9/11 - Hexadecimal - 09-12-2012 02:17 AM I'll just say that I was in grade school busily doing my homework. I happened to be seated in the back of the class due to the current arrangement so I was a bit oblivious to the fact that a TV had been rolled in at first. My teacher was actually from New York so this was an even bigger deal for him since there was a chance people he knew could've been in the Towers. We actually watched the TV for the rest of the day instead of doing anymore school work. I talked to some friends who went to public school (for 1st through 8th grade I went to a crappy Christian school) and they said the teachers actually chose to not say anything because they were afraid it would freak the kids out too much. Pffft. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - BasilZero - 09-12-2012 02:51 AM I remember the day clearly, I was in middle school in my keyboarding class and the teacher decided to turn on the TV in the room for us to watch (although not sure why you would want to show a tragic event to middle schoolers). Anyways, all I remember after that was a lot of the students being scolded cause they thought it was some sort of movie scene and were cheering..and laughing at the sight. The rest of the day was really...well silent cause 90% of the students left the school day early due to their parents picking them up.... RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - A Zombie Riot - 09-12-2012 03:54 AM I never said it was the darkest, I said it was one of the darkest days. Heck, the first 7 words are "One of the darkest days in history." You're not saying the day wasn't dark for ALL of those people who lost lives that day? Ok. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. IN HISTORY,you left that part out.Because most parts from the other side that is not USA(like i dunno,Russia, Iraq etc.) are happy about it. Though when i heard about,I felt sad. Nowadays,I keep hearing my colleagues arguing that America deserve it and what not. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - A Zombie Riot - 09-12-2012 06:01 AM I forgot the 'in the US' part. I'll fix it. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - Zaliphone - 09-12-2012 06:16 AM I was 4 years old, but I do remember a bit of it. I was with my mom at home and when she heard of it she immediately turned on the TV and we watched as the Towers collapsed. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - cingchris - 09-12-2012 10:00 AM Before I inevitably piss someone off with what I'm about to say I will add a disclaimer: These are my own personal opinions and feelings, but don't get me wrong, I am truly sorry for anyone who had family killed in the 9/11 attacks. *disclaimer over* also if you want to say anything to me about my opinions in a negative manner consult me in the PMs please, I do not wish to ruin this thread with an argument, also as an extra measure I'm putting in a spoiler just so you read this first. Spoiler (Click to View) Edit: The thing messed up and double posted. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - A Zombie Riot - 09-12-2012 10:08 AM I see your points and I honestly respect them. It doesn't affect me because I didn't lose anyone that day. But to the people who did lose loved ones, it's still a hard day for them, you know. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Also I just remembered a little something that is related to this that made me laugh a little bit today, I was at school and wanted to go down to the library to get a book to read so the teacher had to write me up a pass so I wouldn't get stopped, and then she left the date area blank saying she couldn't remember the date and I'm just standing there giggling to myself thinking, "wow she really forgot it's 9/11 today." Dude, stop saying shit you don't have any clue about for other countries's feelings of events. Niether Russia nor Iraq were "happy" about it, especially not Iraq after the U.S. sent in the cavalry based on speculation... Anhow, my thoughts on the matter are as follows: I don't know what the hell happened, and I'm pissed about it. I'm in the middle, leaning towards the conspiracy theory side, not because they make a ton of sense, but because they make more sense than what we're being fed here in the good 'ol US of A. The government has admitted to lying to the people in the past over matters of alleged attacks, namely the Gulf of Tauken incident, and they haven't released shit about what actually happened on 9/11, so I'm not buying what little they did say. That being said, to put it in perspective, it's not the darkest day in history of civilization, just saying. Well there's my two pesos, not trying to enrage anybody, just stating my opinion. Oh, and I do feel bad for those who died and those who continue to die in this perpetual war, as well as their family members. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - BumblebeeCody - 09-13-2012 12:10 AM @cingchris Do you know what day the Americans bombed Hiroshima? On 9/11 2000 people died due to terrorist attacks. In "true Aemrican" retaliation, 2 million Iraqis, Afghans (and other possible nationalities in those regions). Have been killed. Over 300 000 being civilian casualties and 100+ in this month alone. But who pays respect and tribute to those men and women, or who cares? America: Too busy watching 2 and Half Men to care, soz. 9/11 Meh. RE: 11 Years ago today is the day we all stood in shock. Always Remember. 9/11 - cingchris - 09-13-2012 06:05 AM @BumblebeeCody Umm...excuse me? I'm sorry but you are going to have to spell out the point you are trying to make and why. I have a guess as to what you are getting at but I have no clue what I could have said to make you try to say that, so I'm just gonna not assume and just ask for clarification before I say anything. |
