Donkey Kong 64 - mrKRB64 - 09-02-2012 10:29 AM At the very beginning of the game when you start in Donkey Kong's cabin; you can look around and find various nods to his previous games such as girders, the grammophone and stereo from Donkey Kong Country. On one wall is a picture of a dolphin. This is one of the earliest references to the Gamecube's codename at the time - the "Dolphin" RE: Donkey Kong 64 - BumblebeeCody - 09-02-2012 11:32 AM That's pretty cool. But is it an actual reference to The Dolphin? Had the codename been established then? RE: Donkey Kong 64 - mrKRB64 - 09-02-2012 12:56 PM Yeah the Dolphin was announced late 1999 so Rareware would have known about it RE: Donkey Kong 64 - Skarro - 09-02-2012 11:29 PM Wasn't there a dolphin animal you could ride in a previous game? That could be it also. RE: Donkey Kong 64 - mrKRB64 - 09-03-2012 03:38 AM That was a swordfish RE: Donkey Kong 64 - Skarro - 09-04-2012 09:07 AM Yes! Thats right, thank you. RE: Donkey Kong 64 - mrKRB64 - 09-05-2012 03:41 AM No worries haha.
