At the very beginning of the game when you start in Donkey Kong's cabin; you can look around and find various nods to his previous games such as girders, the grammophone and stereo from Donkey Kong Country.

On one wall is a picture of a dolphin. This is one of the earliest references to the Gamecube's codename at the time - the "Dolphin"

That's pretty cool. But is it an actual reference to The Dolphin? Had the codename been established then?

Yeah the Dolphin was announced late 1999 so Rareware would have known about it Wink

Wasn't there a dolphin animal you could ride in a previous game? That could be it also.
